I do not believe it is possible to have 13 unique deaths that all go to the campfire. At the very least, on days 1 and 4, I can only find 4 deaths: Tree, Horn at Fens, Go to Pub, and Peasant/Poacher.

Of those, only the Pub has a campfire scene. So we're going to have to relax that restriction.

For (6). Definitely should be give ring to guard.

(9). Seems pretty slow, but I can't think of a better one. Maybe 9 should be fens, and (4) can be the poacher death.

The pixie cannot be caught on 1.1 with speed throttling off. As far as we can tell anyway. He just runs right through it.

You need 1.0 to pass. Google it, I found it on some abandonware site. Which I would feel bad about, but I did own the game long ago on floppy and I bought it again on GoG, so I guess it's ok.

I agree with your research as well.

Wow, a lot of things to respond to.

I agree about having a run first. No worries about that. Just was thinking about possiblities.

Looks like there are more differences than I thought.

I don't know how much you have to do to survive the trial. I'll have to test.

I think you should have to beat the game, and of course die at the end!

Shooting the tree is not possible after gaining his favor, so you'd probably do that day 1 if allowed.

But should it be allowed? I'm not sure. Here's my tentative route:

(1) Shoot Tree (2) Get hit by Monk (3). Give comb to guard (4). Horn at Fens (5). Fail Gems (6). Call innkeeper from cellar (7). Fail tree (8). Shoot yeoman (9). Get caught in forest (10). Get burned (11). Go to pub (12). Get sworded by false knight (13). Talk to monks on tower.

Of these, I think the tree is the only one that doesn't go to campfire.

I'm going to be perfectly frank: I don't see the point of Low%. There's so little difference in the run to any%. You pretty much already do the minimum. Just a few things here and there, but other than letting Marian die, the game play is almost the same.

What would be the thoughts on having different categories based on the ending achieved? Survive Trial, Get Best Ending, that kind of thing.

The other idea popping around in my mind would be a silly one: Die Every Day. Robin must die (Reach the restart/restore screen) on every day. And to increase variety, all 13 deaths must be different (Must reach a different campfire ending). Thoughts?

This leads to some otherwise impossible deaths. If you do Abby Monk first and create a save when you have the box, then play up to getting the scroll and learning the code; you can load back and get the fire ring before you're supposed to.

If you have it on when you cross the moat, the rider comments that it's a nice ring. You have that screen to take it off (guess they were being generous). After that the moment you put it on anywhere in the castle, you die. Even if there is no one around you.

The weirdest one is after you free the jester. You get a glitchy death scene where little John claims to have avenged you. (It's the same one you get for losing the staff fight).

The biggest thing is that you don't need arcade on to get points for the quarterstaff fight or the nmm game.

You just have to remember to turn it back up before the archery tournament.

Yes, if you have insufficient men for the final battle and you choose poorly, you get the normal cutscene but your men fall faster than they do. Eventually robin sound his horn as normal and says "Retreat! The battle is lost!"

Then your men sit around the campfire and tell you what an idiot you are.

Next project is compiling the ending variations. That will take a lot more time, lol. Good thing I love this game.

Note that on average, Much's final plan has a higher average remaining, because you always lose exactly 1, whereas with Tuck you can lose a lot more if you go into the final battle with fewer men.

It's the ransom. I can confirm that it you do all the nice events and get everyone on your side, but don't raise a single penny, you get the noose.

If you get any amount, even the 700 from Puck, then you live. Next I want to try being a jerk to everyone and getting 700 to see if you live then.

I plan on cataloging every possible choice to see the outcomes. Not really applicable for speed running, unless we had things like "get best ending" or "survive trial".

I bought it from GoG, referred from Christy Marx's website. It appears to be using scummvm to launch. I haven't had any errors in playing. I didn't have any trouble with the pixie.

Well, it took a few tries, but it was my own error, not the game. First run last night was over 40 minutes. I thought "hide" would substitute for "fur" and died to the tree. Ouch. Fortunately I had saved before the pixie.

(1). How do you make it skip through the text so fast? I'm clicking but it goes nowhere near as fast as the WR.

(2). I'm having a heck of a time getting Robin to move from screen to screen in the forest. I have to click basically all the way at the very edge of the screen. Is there a way around this? The WR moves so quickly across screens.

(3). What causes the glitch of the King thinking Marian is dead at the end? Is it just based on Score / Ransom money raised?

If you beat the game without saving, you get credited with a completion percentage of 0. See:

This requires careful planning and managing health throughout Black Castle since you can't refill till you beat the Ninja.

I somehow got inside those moving platforms, and then the game teleported me to the far side of the room.

Awesome! Speed running applications....?

Hate to harp on this subject, (And probably no one cares) but something is definately wrong with the in-game timer. I don't know if it's just on my end, but the numbers I've seen make no sense. See my most recent PB in regular which posted an absolutely ridiculous 20:31.
