From this I also find that PS2 is by far the worst console to run this game on. As along with the worst loads, it also suffers in Floor it!. Xbox and GCN have similar timings but I feel from playing the game that the speed of the boats is less on PS2. This would make sense as BFBB also had bizarre differences of vehicle speeds across different consoles.
Game is free with Epic Games launcher until December 6th, you link your Uplay account when you go to install it so you can download it from either launcher and therefore remove Epic Games once you've got it: https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/Faqs/000051959/Deine-kostenlose-Kopie-von-Rayman-Legendsvom-Epic-Games-Store-erhalten
Okay, since the Switch version (£9.99) is a port of PS then I’ll probably get the PS One Classic version from PlayStation store (£3.99) and do runs on my PS3 and then help get the board set up. Since a lot of the games have similar names we’d then have to edit the name’s to “James Pond 2 (SMS)” and “James Pond 2 (PS)” also not to be picky but shouldn’t the full title be on the site so it should say James Pond 2: Codename Robocod?
If I got this game then is there a leaderboard for me to submit to? I want to get into this series as it’s a bit of a meme and a British developer but I don’t know much about the history but it be nice to get it on my switch rather than emulate SMS 🤷♀️ any advice?
To update: He gave me super mod so I've added Snap + Slide and also updated the theme, unfortunately as Skate Axis is "high score" based we couldn't do it. We could setup a speedrun for X points but it would require video verification and honestly it isn't something we'd really be interested in setting up in terms of what that game is like
Oh my bad, I saw there were some graphic differences but if they're totally different games then I apologise. Just saw it in Argos haha!
I’ll message Captain Speedruns on Discord to get him to consider it
It's been released by Play It! who have done some great ports over the years and overall seems solid
First 10 minutes of gameplay:
The super moderator of the game Spongebob Squarepants: Lights, Camera, Pants has been very combative and uninterested in this game for a long time. He hasn’t verified anything since February 23rd 2018 leaving it all up to the other moderator who’s only mod due to the fact he’s the series mod as well. I first wrote to the super mod on discord asking for some help but he was very dismissive and in the end insulting. I’ve been talking a lot to the other mod/series mod who has given me the thumbs up to request moderator as we both see the board needs some TLC and he hasn’t got the time for it. I want to help share his workload because he’s been doing it solo for almost 2 years

Finally, I realise this is quite a strongly worded post but I’d be more than happy to speak to any of the team in private on discord in regards to screenshots of conversations
Best thing would be to consult this page as it's a checklist of all the requirements: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gamecube/926203-spongebob-squarepants-lights-camera-pants/cheats
You need to do the bronze/silver/gold story modes AND complete the objectives that will unlock action figures and artwork, I'd recommend going to that page and setting up a checklist of objectives for the respective story mode.
If you want to talk more then please hit me up on discord: cheekychunk#1366
So currently there was no standardisation of timings in regards to IL. As of writing there is no information in the Rules simply stating the conditions for Player Difficulty/AI Difficulty for each subcategory. Currently Weight & Sea used RTA commencing time on the "Press Start to begin" screen to ending time on air horn however Floor it! used In-Game Time. Personally I've just finished some Solo grinding of Flingin' & Swingin' and was tempted to use In-Game Time here by taking 4:00 - X:XX where X:XX is the time remaining upon final air horn however I have found some irregularity with In-Game Time and decided to investigate.
In my current PAL PS2 Flingin' & Swingin' from the IGT timer starting to the IGT at airhorn difference is 2:44 RTA and 2:39 IGT Difference is 0:05 seconds
In @Poshact 's NTSC GCN Floor It! starting on Go! of the individual race and ending on crossing finish line: Race 1 is 0:50.26 RTA and 1:03.05 IGT Race 2 is 1:02.49 RTA and 1:14.73 IGT Race 3 is 0:45.73 RTA and 0:58.21 IGT Total is 2:38.48 RTA and 3:16:00 IGT Difference is 0:37.52
In @ShiroShima 's PAL Emulated GCN: Race 1 is 0:52.85 RTA and 1:05.64 IGT Race 2 is 1:08.47 RTA and 1:20.31 IGT Race 3 is 0:51.62 RTA and 1:04.15 IGT Total is 2:52.94 RTA and 3:30.11 IGT Difference is 0:37.17
In @Gamingguy63 's NTSC Emulated GCN: Race 1 is 0:54.92 RTA and 1:07.96 IGT Race 2 is 1:10.50 RTA and 1:22.83 IGT Race 3 is 0:54.92 RTA and 1:07.41 IGT Total is 3:00.34 RTA and 3:38.20 IGT Difference is 0:37.86
These are all the runs from the IL Leaderboards but to compare consoles I have also taken @Ninjacop 's NTSC Xbox run, my own PAL PS2 run and @robthegamer115 's PAL PS2 run
NTSC Xbox Race 1 is 0:57.20 RTA and 1:09.94 IGT Race 2 is 1:11.77 RTA and 1:23.82 IGT Race 3 is 0:58.70 RTA and 1:10.63 IGT Total is 3:07.67 RTA and 3:44.40 IGT Difference is 0:36.73
PAL PS2 Race 1 is 1:05.40 RTA and 1:18.18 IGT Race 2 is 1:12.59 RTA and 1:24.91 IGT Race 3 is 0:57.72 RTA and 1:09.85 IGT Total is 3:15.71 RTA and 3:52.95 IGT Difference is 0:37.24
NTSC PS2 Race 1 is 1:02.66 RTA and 1:15.45 IGT Race 2 is 1:17.64 RTA and 1:30.17 IGT Race 3 is 1:01.52 RTA and 1:03.89 IGT Total is 3:21.82 and 3:59.52 IGT Difference is 0:37.70
It appears across all consoles that there is an average difference is of 37.37 seconds with an uncertainty of 1.13 seconds, no disadvantage and no problem :)
TL:DR Please choose a preferred standardised timing method across all ILs either RTA or IGT, add this timing method in the IL boards, and write here why you've came to that decision
People time them out (if they want) and then moderators verify the run, why is that so shocking? 😂
Gl with your runs though, have a scan of the forums and guides for help :)
Just an update on this, despite there being clear and obvious loading screens the current moderators are uninterested in adopting such a timing method despite myself volunteering whole heartedly to do this alone pending approval from them once completed. Their advice is to buy an Xbox if you want a competitive time :(
You should remove GBA from Platforms on this Leaderboard to avoid confusion, though!
There's only really 7 out of the 18 levels in this entire game that you can actually have an effect on the timer: The Bouncer - At 1 minute intervals the timer freezes and doesn't unfreeze until an object is no longer being bounced before changing places Inflatable Pants - Pretty obvious, if you stay near the far right of the screen by going fast and not crashing then you help drag all the slow coaches with you Weight & Sea - Grabbing colours efficiently and getting 1st time on the timed finishing Goo-ladiators - At 1 minute intervals a new bumper is added but the timer freezes and doesn't unfreeze until everyone is in their starting position, even more time waste if people are knocked off the edge at this time Floor it! - Pretty obvious, it's a racer and finishing gives your opponents 30 seconds to finish or get a Did Not Finish (aka Too Slow!) Seahorse Stampede - Get a 4-0 to get enough points to progress past BB Jail, 5-0 for a safety at a cost of 14 seconds Flingin' & Swingin' - It's possible to nab all 100 pegs and hence finish before the timer
Just for anyone wondering why the boards are split between the PC and PS version there are two reasons:
- To finish the game you need to collect all 4 Lost Boys on PS version, this is not the case on PC
- Less importantly is load times
Other than this, the game’s are identical and you can see that by watching runs on either platform. :)
update: managed to find mod via lethal league discord and have sent him a friend request on his corrected discord and his steam linked to his discord so will let you know. i've also hit you up on similar platforms so we can all get together.
i've got an Any% time of 53 mins but i had a gross amount of restarts, your time for 100% seems plausible but imo it would take a lot of grinding and without seeing it i wouldn't think it could be go on boards :(
