What are the rules now that the Battle for Tertium update has changed the difficulty system?

Given the popularity of the jump puzzles like Leap of Faith and Kugane Tower...How is there not an official category for them? I mean they are big enough that they get large amounts of attention and speedrunning videos as-is

I struggle heavily recording this game, otherwise I'd have way more runs. If I so much as tab out the entire game will crash, making it difficult to use OBS to record with it..since the game also blocks any inputs from reaching OBS. I have to start recording, launch the game, and do everything from there raw...it's...less than ideal.

I can't even do splits or anything, and my recording always seems less smooth and jankier than some of the runs I'm seeing posted on here...so...Whats your secret if there is any?

Is there any way we can get Individual Level categories as well?

From just watching the runs I can basically understand what each one is, but theres no actual concrete game rules clarification on them to know what they actually are and how they work, other than the gamemode and vehicle types allowed.

Are emulated runs allowed? Only asking because I've lost my copy of the game and don't have a capture card that works with my 3DS (not even sure it still works ngl)

So as you have all probably been able to tell it's kind of chaos sorting everything out. Sometimes a radical change patch comes in every 15 days and sometimes theres a dry spell for months upon months on end.

It's hard to tell what to count and what not to count, and how to categorize it all. As of now I've separated it into the post-Wawsp addition and the pre-Wawsp versions

However as you all know, you can't download or access older versionso f the game unless someone has themem and sends you them or you just so happen to have them. It's a bit unfeasible and impractical to have a leaderboard for every tiny change and category.....but each release of the game really does often times drastically change the times you can get in each category. For example: the terrain changes, map location changes, burst damage being nerfed, physics bugs, overall item changes.

I want your guys's input, if any of you are out there to give any. I'd love to see more people playing JG like they were earlier this year, and I want to make it understandable and fair for newcomers as well as all you veterans.

Basically, it is just easier to manage and filter through when it's more compartmentalized in proper categories.

There is a much bigger reason, however, as to why v0.1.9 and likely verisons above it will have to be their own distinct section. This is primarily because, as of now, you can only ever download the most up to date version of Juice Galaxy, making previous runs impossible for others to run unless someone can pass them the files. (which I do not endorse, and may likely go against the wishes of Fishlicka, the developer)

The other reason is because v0.1.9 not only adds in a new boss, but also adds in a mechanic known as "burst armor" which makes bosses signficantly hader to one-shot. They no longer take massive damage from the attacks that used to guarantee kills.

These differences are so extreme that it wouldn't be fair to put v0.1.9 and future runs in the same ball park with older versions. This basically affects every single category.

Would it be possible to have IL runs for the levels of the campaign or at some of the skirmish modes? I don't mind if not, just found it odd that it doesn't exist.

No matter what I try OBS won't capture this game, it just refuses to pick it up when I try to record game. Everything else works fine, is there some setting I'm missing for recording it or?

I really want to speedrun this game, but if OBS doesn't work I'm SOL since I don't really use twitch.

Could we add Capitulate USA as a category? Spiffing Brit just posted an interesting strat that lets you cap them within a year or so IGT easily

Seems like it'd be very interesting to see people find ways to do it!
