Hi on another thread I asked what equipment i need to speed run the original super Mario bros. And other NES games in the uk one user OuaisMaisNan sugested removing the location chip from a PAL console as NSTC consoles are hard to find in Europe. How do I go about removing this chip. Alink to a guide would be useful. I’d also like to know if this would make my smb run at full “US NTSC” speed thank you

Hi, i live in the UK and am interested in starting speed running the early Mario games on NES. I am aware that there is some difference between the PAL systems and TVs in my country and the NTSC ones found in NA and Japan. Id like to know what equipment i should be getting to optimally run these games.

I found a Matsui 14TVDVR1 CRT TV in my house and it says it has "NTSC playback (PAL60Hz)" but i'm new to this kind of tech am i'm not sure exactly what this means
