I know that, FreddiePotato has yet to do that, if a question like what he asked though irks people that much then there's no need for a response, just ignore the thread
If I recall that was an actual thread calling out whether speedrunning was worth it and an opinion pusher hence the title, this guy only asked why we do it, I know it has been done plenty of times before, that doesn't mean we can shit on a potential new runner asking the same question and not realizing who just wanted to start a discussion (people can be a bit more creative and dig deeper than "because we enjoy it." for a discussion), all I'm getting to is give the benefit of the doubt until it's pretty obvious it's a troll
After being called out like that I understand why it was deleted, I've done the same thing on reddit before to reduce further backlash from defensive people, why would he not delete his apology message too then? Clearly it was meant with good intentions until proven otherwise, from what I remember of the original post it read nothing like that
This would be a topic to bring up in the sm64 forums/talk to the mods about it rather than the general Talk forums
Dude just wanted to know why we enjoy something, that's a reasonable discussion for someone that just joined speedrun.com and is possibly getting into it, pretty lame to jump to the conclusion he's a troll if he hasn't even shat on anyone's opinions yet
Game requests take a number of weeks yes, you'll know whether it was accepted or denied whenever kirk has the time to look at it
I don't think it's wise to keep someone around like that either way, they don't show any signs of stopping asking for moderator for anything no matter what is said to them
I think I've only ever seen you and him say it so far sooooooo
Shouldn't threatening someone like that be a bannable offense or at least a temp ban
LiveSplit or anything similar to it will fill your timer needs
At this point it'd be best just to ignore him he doesn't read anything that is said to him
@snes_fanatic Timmiluvs already said this before, it doesn't seem like you actually read this thread in general though but "snes_fanatic, you can't just use this thread to get mod because "you want to moderate hacks".
This is a last resort thread for when you need a run verified or something to be done with a game and you can't contact any of the mods because they've been MIA for 3+ weeks. That game has a single run so it's more than likely that the moderator isn't in need of any assistance on the game. If you have a run pending for the game, you can contact them on their social media links to get it resolved.
If you're so inclined, you can also reach out to the moderator and ask them to give you mod, but it's unlikely they'll add you unless there is a huge need for it."
Depending on the time you are away from your run it is possible to use the pause key which is default numpad 9 I think for livesplit, record down that time you have and then next time you have to restart or something go to edit splits and set that time in the Start Timer At section
Im not gonna get involved any further than to say you shouldn't just submit something your own way in the first place without first having absolute confirmation that the mod is okay with it and do I know what's going on and looked at the forums to see myself
I don't understand, if you said yourself it's not been very long since you had originally submitted the run don't you think you're being a little impatient about it? What if he's busy? Things happen and verifying a run that long isn't a walk in the park
Two days isn't very long, give it some more time, you could just be annoying him messaging him that much over the span of a few days because of verification
