Having no audio should almost be enough of a reason to reject a run outright. You shouldn’t submit a run if it’s silent or has music playing over it, etc because it’s hard to verify much of anything from just a silent video.
If you do reject the run though, at least tell the person that they need to record their audio as well as the video.
Don’t apologize for being in the hospital lol. I figured something had come up for you, didn’t know if any other the other mods had any updates.
I haven’t met a community that doesn’t allow flash carts and if they did disallow them then they would be bad mods since those carts are proven to be quite accurate (mostly due to it using the actual system and not an emulated system).
All the communities I’ve seen treat it as real hardware. So using a flash cart to play an NES game for example would be submitted as a real NES not an emulator since you’re using the real hardware.
Also, I’m talking specifically about Everdrives and sd2snes - those carts are accurate. I can’t speak on another type of flash cart (I’ve never even heard of a Harmony Cart) so if you’re using something weird like that, that’s something you’ll have to run by the mods to see if they allow it or what it is classified as.
Any update on this?
I noticed that game mods have started to show up on the games, but all of the current series mods are still on most/all of the individual games and our series mods haven't dropped to the 2-3 expected.
Is there some issue that's preventing this from moving forward?
Also, I know there was some talk of opening up the mod discord to the public or adding a channel in the current community server dedicated to mod specific talk in order to increase transparency like a lot of people have asked for, but I haven't seen either of those yet.
It appears to be a bug and it's not just you. Multiple people have already reported it both in various threads and in the discord.
I haven't heard anything yet from staff/admins about what is causing it or a timeline on a fix.
I don’t understand why you are dead set on running the PSX version of Chrono Trigger. It’s not separated on the LBs so it’s not like it has its own categories and the rules for the game even warn that the version is bad with slow loading.
Why do you want to intentionally handicap yourself and prevent yourself from being competitive with every other runner? You’re trying to emulate it anyway, so why not emulate a better version that everyone else runs on?
Regardless, Bizhawk has a PSX core so you can still use that. I don’t know how great or accurate it is, but Bizhawk will give you the closest you can get to decent emulation for the game. There’s guides on TASvideos http://tasvideos.org/Bizhawk.html
4 people here + multiple others reporting it in discord at some point
This is the kinda wholesome shit I want to see more of on this forum.
Doing that would hinder on someone being available to take over as mod of the game you’re removing them from. Mass removing inactive people would leave a lot of games mod-less.
As a note - if you have a model 1 Genesis, it’ll have a headphone jack on it. This is important because the console itself as a model 1 only outputs mono sound. If you want stereo sound you’ll need to split the audio from the headphone jack into 2 channels and capture that because the headphone jack outputs stereo for some reason.
Yeah don’t repeatedly submit a rejected game, that probably won’t go over well.
The game wasn’t rejected due to the quality of your run, it was probably rejected for the type of game that it is (short, generic flash game). Even if you get a perfect run it still won’t be on the site because the site had cracked down on the short “dime a dozen” flash games.
But, you should keep running it and enjoying it. After all, an LB on here isn’t required to do anything so keep running and improving if you’re enjoying the game.
ILs in this game are done through Mission Mode, you just pick a mission and go. As for there being no video, I don’t know why the mods allowed runs without video, that would be something they’d have to answer.
Citra is designed to optimize performance. In other words, it intentionally optimized itself to perform better than original hardware. I believe it had some old videos showing it loading and playing A Link Between Worlds faster than a rea 3DS.
Since it optimized itself that way, it’s banned for being inaccurate compared to real hardware.
Thank you for reviving a 2 month old thread that was already answered to let us know you’re good at Google.
Maybe I was thinking of something else, a runner I know had to install some custom stuff to change something on his PS3 and he said that part of it had to do with using an SSD.
Guess I had some bad information on that, thanks for clearing it up.
It could be that the site didn’t add all the region information for every country. But the more likely reason is that countries may have regions, but those regions don’t have flags.
For example, the US has a few regions (northeast, Midwest, etc) but they don’t have flags because there is nothing really “official” about them.
If you truly want this, I’d recommend archiving the LB you’re interested in yourself (scraping it or using a web archive or something) because making automatic snapshots of the LBs on this site just isn’t practical.

This thread is for adding consoles/platforms that games can be played on.
