But they literally dug up months old threads in Introductions to spam the same message advertising a game they moderate. Is there any site wide rule against this level of spamming by users?
Any questions you have regarding a specific game need to be addressed to that game’s community. You can use the game specific forums or a community discord server if one exists to communicate with them (both links can be found on the left hand side of an LB page).
In your specific case, whether or not multi part runs are allowed for Minecraft needs to be asked to the MC community. Each game judges what is legal for category submissions on their own, there is no overarching rule about it.
I’m not sure what any of this means or what you’re trying to convey here. But you would be better off discussing this or sharing this with the Minecraft community directly (every game/series has its own forum, see the pinned thread in this very forum).
Are you talking about the run submission form? That is where you put the URL for whatever video hosting/streaming site the run of your video is hosted at; you link to your run so the moderators can verify it.
Please note: some games don’t always require video proof (although it can be rare to see this) so check the rule for the game/category you ran and verify that your run and video meet any and all requirements.
Check the rules for any game and category you want to run to make sure you abide by all rules for video proof (it is a game by game basis).
In general, yes, video record from a phone or webcam is allowed as long as it is watchable quality and has audible audio.
As long as your video complies with all of the rules laid out for the games you want to submit runs for, it is fine however it's recorded.
I meant SRL doesn’t have LBs for RTA runs which is what (I think) the OP was talking about, so I should have been more specific. Unless OP was talking about a point based ranking for races rather than actual grinding runs of categories in which case that SRL LB might be exactly what they are looking for.

Arbitrarily deciding on point values based on player count just doesn't make sense. This has been brought up before and the consensus is that randomly deciding how good or optimized a run is based on player count is not at all indicative of the actual skill of the run. In other words, a WR run in a game with 5 runners may be more optimized than a WR in a game with 100 runners, so how would you assign points accordingly?

What does SRL have to do with this? SRL is not a ranking site nor an LB site, all it does is host Twitch streams from runners with accounts. It’s essentially a re-streaming service, so it has no bearing on this site or anything like that (it also doesn’t verify runs or anything like that on SRL).

You're looking for Global Hotkeys. You can enable those in the LiveSplit settings - that will allow you to trigger LiveSplit even when it's not in focus (ie. when you're clicked on the game).
And as for that second part, that's a really vague question that doesn't have an easy answer. Usually just buying a CPU alone is....odd unless you're looking to upgrade or replace an existing one in your PC. But which one to buy depends entirely on the chipset you're looking to use. If your motherboard only supports Intel chipsets, then, well, you need an Intel CPU. Same goes for AMD. You're probably better off just googling your motherboard to confirm which chipset - and which generation of CPUs with that chipset - is supported and finding out which one to buy that way.
Granted some CPUs are better for gaming if that's the main goal of your PC, but again, that depends on the rest of your build and what your current components are.
I mean this with all due respect, but what is the point of this thread? Are you trying to request a game? Request a category? Are you asking for someone to race you in a game/category?
This is an incredibly vague and nondescript post/thread and it looks really pointless. Please clarify what you’re trying to ask about or discuss so we can assist you or better contribute to a conversation.
I’m sorry, but I don’t understand your question. If you’re asking about creating a tournament for those games, you should probably discuss that with the actual communities for those games. They probably won’t like someone creating a a tournament without talking with them.
A tournament is not a marathon, don’t post in that thread.
Tournaments are handled externally from this site. There are sites better designed to handle tournaments (ie. Challonge) so those sites should be used to handle tournaments. Usually people coordinate tournaments with the communities here, but even that is usually done in discord servers nowadays.
