Stop creating CE-esque threads on this forum, go to smoce. Quit smalltalking and spamming notifications, no one here ever learns.
2nd time in 24 hours this exact thing has been made into a thread, stop it, get a pro controller.
Can everyone here please avoid making posts with such few words, it's clogging notifications, I will directly contact those who create this issue again the next time it happens. Please use DMs or the discord server to extensively talk about topics where it's both quicker and does not clog up anything for anyone, this should not be a place for some small talk.
Why is this entire thread on the wrong leaderboard, continue this if you wish on the CE forums please.
This had been discussed many times, see one of the previous forum threads regarding it.
My last post in this thread explains that current runs submitted as 1.2.0 are changed to 1.3.0, I don't own the form to make any fix for this.
I have not paid much attention to the game in quite a bit of time, I do know about the delves update but I don't know what it's all about, I will look at stuff and see what fits as a speedrun category for this leaderboard.
The load time differences between console and emulator/usb loader is ridiculous being multiple minutes faster when applied. Because of this, it is banned, it gives an uneven advantage to anyone who uses it, categories vary for how many minutes it could save, but for example, its usually around 10 minutes saved in Subspace. This thread and its contents is still relevant to the decision being unchanged.
You've disabled DMs so I have to post here. Are you going to constantly keep posting "new category idea" forum threads and not actually do these runs then attempt to submit them to the form. Creating threads does nothing but clog notifications, do the run and submit to the form.
All categories are longer with the 2m+ pet introduction task now (Akilles and Alicane still can achieve times close to world record with tower teleports I assume). I see no reason to reset any categories when they can get the same treatment as Golem Court did, it hurts nothing and keeps the history of the previous runs, subcategories of Legacy and Current (can be argued to only put for Harvest and WC due to the large change of taskline in Triton Avenue) seem to easily fix this issue, there are many boards that have implemented a major update change like or similar to this including one I moderate. Considering this is the first time they've majorly changed the start of the game in a long time, I can't see the problem of having to change the leaderboard occur often.
I don't keep up with this game really at all but unless this is stated somewhere as an event, can confirm this is true after Unicorn Way, such a bummer. I planned on returning with new strats to Harvest Lord% and Wizard City% for the 20 and sub 1, but now with this update that is no longer a possibility, and I now have no intention to return to run this slower version of the game.
I have only bothered to test Triton Avenue which seems to be around 30 minutes, and Cyclops Lane which nothing is different besides the quick teleport to Akilles' tower which saves time, but obviously the new pet introduction still ruins the category and all the rest, I assume Firecat Alley is probably also untouched + the tower teleports, not sure about the post Olde Town streets stuff. In my opinion the best course of action to take with reshaping this leaderboard would be to implement subcategories, something along the lines of Legacy and Current, even though the recent runs before this update aren't so much considered legacy without the Lady Blackhope task and such which most runs on the board have, though that removed tasks from the taskline, this update introduces practically a new taskline for Triton Avenue and the pet introduction which is in all categories. As this update increases the time it takes to complete each street individually and altogether, they should be separated for future runners to do the categories with the new tasks and/or dumb pets introduction. All of Legacy would be considered "dead runs" just like Golem Court.
A Category Extensions leaderboard was created. Here is a list of what will be moved over/removed from this leaderboard:
Subspace Emissary - Low%, Cutscene%, Jumpless. NG+ to be moved back as a main category next to Any% and 100%, Subspace RTA to be removed entirely, The Great Maze RTA to be moved to Level Leaderboard. Classic/All-Star/Boss Battles - All Difficultes and All Characters. Break The Targets - Level (x) All Characters.
If you want to discuss more on possible creations of future extensions, please discuss in our discord server or on the CE leaderboard: https://www.speedrun.com/ssbbce/forum
@zMienai there are no responses from you, you have to submit it to the form, we know when 1.3.0 was released and all runs from then up to now are marked as 1.3.0 anyway. There are not enough submissions to warrant the time into updating the sheet, there has been 10 or less submissions so far in 2020.
Jumpless had a few runners before it was a part of the mass removal, however, nothing's stopping anyone from doing Jumpless runs and reviving it on the leaderboard again. If it were to be revived, the ruleset would remain the same.
Regardless if you think it's acceptable or not, as I said, it's best to directly contact the mods in order to form a valid ruleset, nothing will be made without contacting them.
The addition of a days-long category just for one guy and one guy only is not how it works. You should of contacted the mods to arrange some sort of valid ruleset before starting, you're just bound to run into problems now based on your description of the run.
