I used time them after another mod quit and i got quite into the speedrunning for a little bit, if the mods wanted I could come back and retime them, including my own if necessary, although from what I recall mine were timed from when the screen began to fade into the custom night screen, as this was the closest i could get to when the button was pressed.
I suggest we do a vote on it then - even though it seems to be decided. Two comments will be below. One saying "Lock" and one saying "Keep". Simply like which one you side with. I suggest this is kept to mods only vote however.
I think we should keep them up, but no longer accept runs, using Hako's idea of diplaying:
"This category is locked, no more runs can be submitted."
Next to each or somewhere on that run. This way people who want their runs keep them and its clear that no one can enter a new time, as at this point it will just be a race to whoever got the new hardware first.
Personally, anything that mainly requires a powerful PC to have a chance at beating it should be deleted, as it is unfair to those who don't have high end rigs. This being said, people may care about their runs for these catagories, so if it were possible, you could simply lock them from any new entries, or make it clear no new entries will be entered?
Hey Spider, I can retime them sure. Although it sounds a bit odd, my editing software can go through clips frame by frame, so I can see exactly what the time would be, as the switch is almost instant and sometimes hard for us to hit. This is how I did my timing so if you want an example of what I mean, look there, or I can simply do a whole new run and use that as an example one. Thanks for the quick reply and apologies for my late one.
So as most are aware recently Sheppard Killer resigned. And due to this there is a "vacant" spot for a mod. Now if this is already filled I apologise, but if not below are the reasons why I would like and believe I would be a good mod:
- The main area I would moderate would be the Golden Freddy run, as since my wr time, it has become more popular to attempt.
- Due to being wr holder I would be able to accurately check times on runs, as I myself had to retime mine in order to get the wr.
- The main problem would be if I was biased. To this I simply say - I'm not and wouldn't be. Speedrunning is something that with time and determination anyone can do, if someone beats my own or anyones record fairly, they deserve credit for this. My pride wouldn't stand in the way of someone elses acomplishment. Lemme know if there's anything else, hope to hear from some of you guys. Thanks
I have a 1050Ti and thanks LuckY, I'll try one in a bit.
So I would like to start speedrunning GTA as there are a few of the levels I think I can obtain a better time, however with my current PC I can't screen record and play without it being around 9fps. My question is would it be possible to record with say a normal camera or phone, or does it have to be screen recorded? Any input is appreciated and sorry if this thread has already been done and answered.
