I recently got the game again after many years of last playing it, and everything works well, except one thing. The lilypad minigame (left gate in the crystal level) is broken. If I click anywhere during the minigame, the slingshot doesn't shoot but returns to relaxed position, the cursor is stuck where I clicked, and the game doesn't respond to any more clicks. The game works but won't let me do anything. The only thing I can do at this point is close the game via Task Manager. I play on Windows 10. I decided to see if the same thing happens with Windows XP compatibility. The game ignored my existing profile for some unknown reason, so I created a new one, played through the beginning and got to the minigame again. Same result. I never ran into this when I played the game before (on actual Windows XP), so it's super weird.

I'm interested in doing co-op speedruns, but the problem right now is that there are only 2 runners at the time, I don't want to force my friends into learning this game and I'm too introverted to ask DS players on YouTube.

I'm technically ready though. I have Parsec with which I can host the game for another player (they don't even need to have the game on their own PC, they join my game, as if 2 people played on the the same PC), and I think my Internet is good.

Another player (not in speedrunning communities) showed me that it's possible to quickly go to the next level right after defeating a boss by quickly pressing F2 twice. I tried it out here, albeit I got a bit nervous and mashed the key ^^' Could this become a strat?

The same person said that missiles are limited by number and not by time, so they are used only when the player shoots.

I just did another run, and when I checked the recording, I saw that shortly before (or maybe exactly in the moment, I can't tell) I pressed Start, the footage freezes, then goes back to normal in a few seconds. I compared my recording to the recording of another player with the same game version, and it seems that my run starts at the 4th second (close to 5th) of the video. Quickly checking the rest of the recording, it seems fine. I hope I can still submit my run!

• На уровне Метро попробуйте зажать Пробел во время прыжка (НЕ в полёте после столкновения!) и удерживать его во время приземления и после. Вы побежите быстрее. Разработчики наверняка не учли это. Это работает на всех уровнях сложности и может спасти вас на высоком.

Я думала, что логичнее всего начинать отсчёт тогда, как только исчезает экран загрузки первого уровня, потому что геймплей начинается именно здесь. Но, возможно, началом отсчёта придётся сделать момент пораньше. Напишите здесь, стоит ли:

• оставить это правило, как есть
• сдвинуть начало на нажатие кнопки Новая игра или Продолжить
• сдвинуть начало на нажатие кнопки Пляж

С помощью uTorrent через файл-торрент закачиваются образы дисков, которые монтируются через Daemon Tools или подобные программы. Для запуска игры требуется 2-ой диск.

Good day! I have the PC version of the game and I wanted to try speedrunning races with mouse controls, but so far I made 3 attempts, and each of them ended with the game crashing. 1st time was when I pressed the key to enter the final street race. 2nd time was after finishing the first race. 3rd time was when I set Compatibility to Windows Vista and was entering the 1st city race. The game never crashed when I played normally, and I have all gold medals and platinum trophies. My guess is that I may press the button to enter a race faster than the game manages to load the needed assets. My PC was only assembled in July this year and is powerful enough to run modern games at a framerate above 60 FPS, so I highly doubt the PC is the problem.

My OS is Windows 10 64-bit.

Good day! I don't know if I'll ever speedrun this game, but I have a question regarding making the game work at all. I found an ISO of the game's PC version and successfully installed the game, then restarted the PC because the installation program asked for it, then mounted the ISO again (required to launch the game), but... when I try to start the game via desktop shortcut or the AUTORUN file, with or without Compatibility mode, I always get the same thing: arrow cursor changes to disk, then back, and that's it, the game doesn't launch. There aren't any error messages. I don't see the game in the Task Manager either. When I check the folder where the files are installed, I don't see anything wrong... My OS is Windows 10 64-bit. When I was a kid, I played the game on Windows XP.

I just finished speedrunning Garfield 2 (I have yet to upload the recording), and because I got nervous, I messed up in a bunch of places, including having to replay a Mouse level a few times. Do I have to include the time used for failed attempts, or can I deduct it? I did not use Livesplit during the run.

I opened the game in Window mode and enabled Global Hotkeys (sorry for naming it incorrectly), but when I press the Start/Split key (I chose F1) LiveSplitter doesn't do anything. If I click on LiveSplitter and then the Start/Split key, it works. If I click on the game's window again and then the Start/Split key, it doesn't work again.

I used F1 as the Start/Split key before in another game and it worked.

Good day! I've been thinking about attempting a speedrun of the PC version of this game, but I need to set it to Window mode first or else LiveSplitter will be hidden behind it and glitch, not to mention I'll have to use it blindly. The problem is that I can't set the game to Window mode. The game doesn't have this option, I tried pressing Alt + Enter and adding "-window" and "-w" to the game's address, but nothing works. When I googled the issue, I didn't find a solution for this game specifically, too. Does anyone have a solution?
