I know most dont look at the guide section but wanted to post it here so people can see it if needed. I will be adding to the guide with things I find or testing tricks in the game. Additionally, this forum can be used to ask questions about random tricks or even small stuff they dont understand.

You referring to raid mode or campaign? Campaign everyone runs the same speed...same with raid

Light weight weapon does increase your running speed and I recommend having a machine gun and shotgun with light weight tag depending on the stage. Special tag magnum-Serpent is the best one but Thunder Rapter is anotehr good Magnum to have. If you do not have those. Steady shot magnum with the Piercing part is recommended. Grenade Launcher part is a much along with Gluttony 5 and Auto Loaded...Cornucopia 3, Damage 6 and full burst. If playing PS4/One/Switch version, STARS2 and BSAA2 parts are HIGHLY recommended. Furthmore, if you have this version, the blue cased magnums are really good and would put Sonic Assist + on it since it will not take away a slot if you have that tag on it!. It adds piercing automatically with the tag so it is the next best tag next to the special tag variants.

Early raid mode stages recommend characters with good grenade masteries like Quint, O'Brien, Norman etc. Late 30s to 40+ levels, characters with Magnum masteries. Mostly Lady Hunk but Rachel and Raymond are good ones too.

This is a known skip that is only available to do on the 3DS version. Video provided by @TheIrishBub:

120 FPS is super busted for Rev 2 and can cause a lot of problems within the game and how it runs. 120 has gotten me some weird glitches both Raid and campaign so makes sense. It could be just a bug but may mess around with it myself sometime this week

I never had it happen but curious if it saves times etc. I have had several glitches/bugs happen in runs where I could never replicate them cause they just randomly happen. My best Claire EP 1 time is from one of those too

However, I know there are the newer things for the lowest difficulty for the Switch but it STRUGGLES to stay at 30 fps from the bit I have played. So ATM, I will put it with PS3/360 but it may end up in a separate cat when I am able to play/test more of that version of the game

Yes, it should be, this year been a bit hectic for me so I kept forgetting to adjust it. It runs at 30 so be better on PS3/360. Let me go ahead and do that while I have the time

United StatesSoulless_Persona5 years ago

You can do a Normal run if you want but we only accept Amateur difficulty and No Hope.

United StatesSoulless_Persona5 years ago

I know CursedToast and a few others normally make autosplitters-just most of them do not play or had interesting in RE6. It is possible to ask around the RE Speedrunning discord for help.

United StatesSoulless_Persona5 years ago

You need to post a link that is a constant invitation. There is also the RE Speedrunning Community discord for those who also desire to talk there.

I just got a decent computer to play RE6 so will be doing further testing between 60 to 120 fps for sure among other small tests. Be a lot of fun

My Ep4 Normal run...? I have 6 in the video from what I saw

United StatesSoulless_Persona6 years ago

Thank you for the suggestions I was thinking of trying to find someone who maybe able to do autosplitter to make it a whole lot easier but if not..maybe messing around on what frames to possibly time if load removal is decided upon instead. I will look into some stuff when I get the time for sure. Gonna see if I can do something within this week since next week I have a vacation coming

When I was messing around with my friend's computer, he has a very good computer set up in general and the loadings were extremely fast. SSD and CPU is important to RE6 loading yea. If you didnt have the SSD loadings will take longer-trust me on that one. That is understandable since I have played ths game way more than most people have...I notice way too much stuff cause of it too. Your FPS s fine if it can stay a solid 120 throughout. Again, RTA s being considered due to the fact that PC times are a bit weird for IGT compared to console I have noticed. Still, I will look into some stuff and see what I con figure out in due time. I understand your viewpoint but it will depending on how I can make a solution for eliminating while being accurate honestly..especially since there is no autosplits that remove times for RE6 atm

United StatesSoulless_Persona6 years ago

Sounds like you need an SSD honestly but RE6 is not too PC heavy compared to RE2 among other games I am aware of that. Incorrect, 120 FPS and PC has more effect on animations, AI path finding and how the AI will reaction to things (like Ada's chapter 3 with Jake and Sherry on the boat for example), among other small things. I have done a lot of testing between PS4 and PC to know what 120 can do compared to the 60 FPS I normally run and what the frame rate can save alone... I basically saved around a minute alone on PC with Leon's Chapter 1 with a sub par run. Frame rate matters as well as having a decent SSD to keep loading down. Now I am aware that some sequences on the One/PS4 version have been shorten/sped up compared to the PC/PS3/360 versions. Furthermore, loading can vary depending on the computer so be much more complicated than having a simple formula to calculate it sadly but regardless I understand your frustration with the situation on not wanting to run it because of the loading. I will still take into account your consideration on "without loads" for timing for PC since I ahve been looking on possibly switching to RTA for PC at the very least.

RTA vs IGT is and has been argued about for some time and just depends on the game as a whole. I doubt if loads were equal everyone would use RTA due to FPS, console differences etc. Mainly depends on the game and how the mods decide to handle the situation as a whole. RE6, RE5, Rev 2 and other games count load time for IGT...hell a lot of other games do the same. Rev 2 starts with about 4-5 seconds on the clock before you are even able to move in the episode you are playing etc. It is very flawed but still used throughout majority of games and communities.

United StatesSoulless_Persona6 years ago

Sub 2 hours is easily doable on PC for sure since I have tested out lot of stuff on PC myself just know it isnt possible to do on PS4 since I got the 2:02 xx. (What I currently run on until I get a PC)

Originally this used to be based on RTA and all platforms were on the same board until that shit was changed as well. Personally, I tend to go with IGT (and a lot of the Resident Evil games in general) as a personal preference since if a game has IGT timer then just use it...Most of the RE games have loads calculated within the IGT to a degree (Rev 2, RE5 etc). Additionally, I believe without loads in normally used for games with no IGT timer like DMC5, Crash Trilogy and Spyro I believe.

Furthermore, sadly when it comes to PC gaming or speedrunning in general...a high powered PC is required to keep up competing times etc. Just part of the whole shit with PC speedrunning and gaming in general...This sort of thing was heavily discussed when I was modding RE2 2019 and that went on for a long time once the release of the game was out too. Regardless of how much you do to make it as even as possible...it always comes to a better PC from what I have noticed in many games

However, I do notice the RTA to IGT timer is quite off for PC...if you look at the Leon NG+ Amateur run for an example..it is like 2-3 minutes off or something of that nature? I have been considering making it to where RTA maybe the main timer for PC possibly...If SRC can even let me do that.

Although, I will take your idea into consideration...but I may not end up implementing it at all. We will see in time...I am basically the main mod for this anyway. lol

Sorry, speedrun never notified me that this was posted. I used several skill sets throughout my runs ans switch between them during it so go for it

United StatesSoulless_Persona6 years ago

Training is a skill that will give you infinite items that you have currently on you. A skill that is normally hacked on that can be used for any mode/difficulty that allows for skills to be equipped.. No Hope is the only one where training will not matter since skills are unavailable in that difficulty anyway Trainers and the mods are the usual means
