There are now two subcategories when viewing the leaderboards, Console and Emulator. Runs on an Emulated version of the game will now be accepted as long as they are submitted under the Emulator subcategory. The reason we have not integrated Emulator runs into the same list as Console is due to the inconsistent and faster loading times seen on Emulator. This decision was agreed upon by members of the Tak speedrunning community discord, which is linked in the Resources section of this page. Please let me know of any concerns or suggestions :)

In the past it has been shown that emulators have significantly faster loading times than console, so historically we have not allowed emulator runs. There has been some mention of newer emulator versions having more accurate loading times though, so if it can be shown that there is no difference between emu and console we would accept runs on that version
Yeah, this trick is very finicky and requires some practice to get used to the positioning. The best advice I can give is to just mimic videos as close as possible. If you have questions on specific spots let me know.
If you arent sure how the swimming out of bounds works, it only will let you keep swimming if there is land somewhere above you, so its important to keep a mental path of where you can swim (even though you cant see the land above you)
The idea of a cheat category has been discussed in the community for a while now, and we've decided it's not worth having a spot on the leaderboards, as the entirety of the run would be inputting cheat codes, and running through mummy tombs / spirit world. Mummy tombs is the slowest and least entertaining portion of the entire run, so we've decided that we don't want to make it an official category. You are free to run the category on your own, but we won't have a spot for it here.
So for my Deus Ex HR run, its very important that it is the non directors cut version of the game, since the DX version changes the bosses and adds an extra mission, and is considered a completely different game in terms of speedrunning. The problem is that this version isn't available on steam anymore. So is it possible for me to bring the game on a flash drive or something to the event?
Two of the games I submitted (Qbeh and Deus Ex) would require a 3rd party program for limiting framerate (I use bandicam for that), is that something I would be able to download/set up on the streaming computer? Because if not the FPS limit route for Qbeh can't be done, and the Deus Ex run would be much more inconsistent.
Hey my run keeps getting put into any%, if you could switch it to all missions that would be appreciated :)
