If its just stutter fix and the overflow fixes, those should be fine to use.
@BlackBlood the problem with that seems to be "Efficient Crafting" "EXP Buff" which would cause problems with timing obviously as it gives a direct unfair advantage. If they are togglable, then it probably shouldn't be an issue, but if there's some sort of mod menu, showing that before a run would be nice so we know you don't have anything else toggled.
https://www.speedrun.com/mario_cart_2/resources ^its up here now as well.
@TradeMarked if you don't mind just sending me the swf I can add it to resources in replacement of my outdated link.
I've been a mod for mario cart 1+2 https://www.speedrun.com/mario_cart https://www.speedrun.com/mario_cart_2 for awhile now. I'd like to be made a supermod for mario cart 2 as the current one is very inactive and I'd like to be able to add a verifier. Even when I was added to mario cart 2, it was through a link that bojack (https://www.speedrun.com/user/BoJack) accidentally had active on src (an old twitch account which he has since deleted). From what I remember, he said he was backing down or taking a break from speedrunning for awhile and was happy to have me help verifying runs. I'm now no longer as active as I once was, and while I still can and do verify a decent amount of runs, having the extra verifier would be nice.
@None_of_wiz personally, as someone who rarely runs, I feel like hacked/glitched profiles are OK since the speedrun is still the same at the end of the day and the fact that there's little to no way to verify if someone hacked in their cash.
I believe there are alternatives to flash player being made either way, so it might end up being ok.
For those who didn't know, zir0nic and I discussed this in DMs in order to come up with the current rules which make a lot more sense. We don't have beef anymore.
Use http://www.watchframebyframe.com/ and set your video to 60 FPS. Find out when your run started and when it ended. For example, if your first input was at .41 seconds and the run ended at .61 You do .61 - .41 on google and get your time of .20 seconds.
There is a bug with in game time where the in-game time and lap timers won't match up. For the time being, those runs will be timed by adding up each lap timer. This can be seen in where the in game timer is .01 seconds slower and 2 seconds by the end of the level. If it is found that the in-game timer is right and lap timers are wrong, times will be adjusted accordingly.
Make sure to add up laps properly, as the thing that seems to be a millisecond counter actually counts the frames instead (30 fps), so every .3 is actually 1 second. For example, the run above has .12, .28, and .29 in the millisecond spot. This adds up to .69 or 2.09 seconds in the case of timing. Combined with the 56 seconds that were fully counted, this run still ends up being 58 seconds.
Most of the time, this bug only takes off a frame or two, so it is unlikely you will need to count your laps like this, and the in-game timer will be accurate most of the time.
@CalamityIsHere sorry for the late response, but basically you need to come last. For some reason, this wasn't written anywhere in the rules.
@Guppycruncher thanks for catching this! Not sure how we messed that up.
Anyone in favor of adding a category where this is allowed, feel free to comment it/like this message.
It has been brought to my attention by @Outhauled that you can spawn in items using the number keys and circle objects by pressing t, going forward spawning items and stuff will be disabled in all main categories. There might be extra categories added where this is allowed however, but they will be misc categories as they're meme runs.
@LukeSaward that's unfortunate because that dark filter sucks to play with.
1.) Is there some known way to remove the filters in the wii u virtual console release without modding?(aka enable widescreen and remove the dark filter)? 2.) If I were to mod my wii u and remove the virtual console filters for the game and only do that, would my run be allowed on the leaderboard? [I do have a method for this which I have working] I know modding the game is banned, but this is simply modifying how the virtual console displays the game, not the game itself, how it’s rendered, etc., so I’s like to check if it’s allowed.
