Valhalla@danger_ those run on a different OS than the 3DS, it's quite literally impossible to do. If you play off of emulators it has a chance of being added, but would still be a lot of work.
It'd be interesting to see someone speedrun something with a discord bot thb, but discord bans are funny at best, and cringe 99% of the time. It's straight up harassment mostly for no reason.

@Imaproshaman unfortunately elo is just super secretive about what they do and they almost never read, let alone reply to a single forum post. People have been talking about a lot of the removed stuff, but unfortunately the answer is we just don't know what their plans are other than a few random statements suggesting they might be coming back. They seem to be making a ton of changes site-wide, such as removing content mods, 1-3 letter names, special characters, etc. Unfortunately they just don't seem to want to communicate with the current community much other than their random $20 gift card giveaway, and even then they might just ignore suggestions. Right now, most essentials things are staying in-tact, but other than the people at ELO, we deadass don't know where this site is headed right now. I think 99% of people on forums agree with you, it's just there's nothing we can really do.
@Pear Merki's capture cards are perfectly reliable, not sure where you're getting that info from (at least from my exp. and what I've seen in his discord server). Katsukity was the company that was unreliable. However, he stopped production of them indefinitely and katsukity never made new3ds capture cards (I don't think). The problem is Merki's cards were already really expensive when available (I paid around $400 for mine) mainly due to international shipping costing around $80 there and back. They're already kinda limited in quantity, but even if they come up for sale, they'll be marked up a lot due to them already being costly to get in the first place (I think I last saw one listed for around $1500 that sold relatively fast). Unless loopy starts making them more or someone else steps up, 2ds XL in particular will stay expensive. New 3DS XL might be able to be found cheaper though, I think a relatively high quantity of people sold those and not just Merki. Kinda sucks that NTR overclocks the system though.
Wasn't talking about forum signatures personally, agree w/ what everyone here is saying. Bios on the other hand would be cool IMO, or at least a custom status like discord so I can say something like "taking a break for a week" and (hopefully) not get DMed from people who's run hasn't been verified after 6 minutes (not that this would stop them, since they can't read).

From what I could tell, the forum tends to be primarily made up of people age 13-18, so I'd say age 15/16 would probably be the median. Older people do speedruns, but they mainly stick to the forums for the games they play.
@meeps I think character limits are in place because they're annoying to work with when coding. For example, users with 1-letter names can't be searched directly using the search bar. Also, people try to claim these 1-3 letter accounts to sell them off as 'rare' accounts (kinda like in minecraft with their usernames) and I don't think they want any of that to happen.
The play is to just record while streaming then use windows photos editor to cut what you have down to the run and work with it form there.
