I'd recommend specifically Linux 1.001. I think Rhombu's text guide details how to get this version, I'm not 100% sure if that's changed ever since I got it. If it has, try to get in contact with one of the mods/runners or myself and I'm sure you can get some help.
The reason Linux 1.001 specifically is because that version of the game fixes an input issue related to how Enter/Z interact with each other by treating them as different keys with the same function, rather than how 1.08 handles it by treating them as the exact same button (which means you can't press them together or an input is dropped.)
i wasn't suggesting that myself, was just proposing as a reason because other communities i've been in have done similar stuff when route changes were found. im all for it being changed and don't think the tourney should stop that7
I'd assume the changes for All Hearts/Levels and ARB will go live right away since the developers officially gave the go ahead in the discord just recently (I think it was last night but I'm extremely bad with time), but I'm wondering if the changes for Any% will be withheld until the tournament concludes. It seems a little weird to have a pretty major ruleset change like this midway through a tourney, IMO. But again that's up to them and not me :P
I'm personally excited to see what people will do with the new All Hearts category and I hope that the category is active enough to warrant a spot on the main boards.
All Berries would work, "100%" could also work since I feel like the current 100% category is misleading since pretty much everyone outside the speedrun community considers Golden Berries a requirement for 100% anyway... Current 100% category could be renamed to "All Hearts & All Red Berries" or something of the like. Just an idea.
I don't think what we have right now is bad by any means, or anything.
A hyperdash is when you are standing on the ground, crouch (optional, crouching lowers height but increases speed), and dash then very quickly hit jump.
A wavedash, named after the tech of the same name in SSB: Melee, is when you are in the air and dash diagonally down left/right into the ground, then immediately jump once you land.
They're pretty much the same in terms of speed/distance and both have better situational uses over each other.
