I apologise if that's what it seems, but I promise I have no bias for the format when verifying runs. I was messaging @Growing_Gravity recently about how to retime Twitch submissions and it's likely that he just wasn't happy with exactly how to retime them because we have a really fixed system for YouTube runs, but that's been discussed so it shouldn't continue to happen.
Also, on my local time, your submissions are counted as being done yesterday. It just depends on when we log in, and even so, runs don't have to be verified until weeks after the submission on boards.
I don't uhh.. I don't remember what I was searching for https://www.speedrun.com/user/ballstep24s https://www.speedrun.com/user/ballstep2thh https://www.speedrun.com/user/ballstep2s
Category extensions have been requested a fair bit in the last few months, I don't want to stand in the way of that any longer so yes we should add some stuff for them.
For restricted units, some campaigns, like Adventure, would have a completely negligible difference in the time, but it would be drastic on Introduction and most of the faction campaigns, what do you think about the time difference on Good/Evil and Legacy because I'm debating them?
I would recommend everything @1 said emphatically, and the film Straight Outta Compton got me into the music genre so it's worth a watch even if you think you don't know what's happening.
https://www.speedrun.com/Caribean/allposts please hurry it's not a bot but still
but why does the program you have only choose red names https://www.reddit.com/r/Animesuggest/comments/x9axdz/recommend_me_my_first_light_novel/
this is a reddit repost bot, although bumping the thread actually might mean we see a malicious edit quicker I guess https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/wq067t/your_best_speedrunning_memory/
I've heard of this app before and I checked it out again, Google Play store claims it's 'graphical programming software' rather than a through and through game. There are a lot of really similar tools though that behave more like a game like Lightbot though - but sir, if I may, you moderate over a hundred games and four series, is that not overwhelming enough c:
As for Mario Editor, tutorials are never grounds for having a game on the site, mostly because games that are almost exclusively PvP would be subject to be added for basically one leaderboard. But if there really is no conventional gameplay I'm not sure what the fun in speedrunning it is.
If you're a moderator for the game, you'd normally ask the community about a new category and implement them if people like the idea.
The best course of action for yourself is to head to the community discord or the game's forum and post your idea, if there's a positive reception then it may be added but usually, people will be unwilling to add a totally new category unless it's a well-liked idea in the community. If it's a new game the moderators generally have free reign over starting categories. You could also message a moderator if it's a tiny community.
If it's a silly or arbitrary category, it's much more likely to be accepted if there's a Category Extensions page in my experience.
I thought this was a shitpost but then I actually checked out the Wikipedia page for '137' and there are a number of fascinating details https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/137_(number)
Particularly: "Physicists have postulated that the number could lie at the heart of a grand unified theory, relating theories of electromagnetism, quantum mechanics and, especially, gravity." therefore I think the number is very cool
That does sound pretty severe and I imagine getting more moderators would be sensible, or having Otterstone step down if he truly didn't engage in verification in that time period.
Be that as it may, there are currently 2 active runners on the board and only one run this month, I suspect that was a passing activity wave.
I've seen periods where the sr.c DMs break and notifications don't appear but when they're working, game mods absolutely shouldn't just ignore DMs when they can see them come through. It may be a badly introduced feature but for some people, it's the most convenient or only option to contact people.
@BlazingRaven495 and I'd say if the board is being poorly maintained, with bad retiming, or there's a lack of good rules etc.. then raising the issue(s) is sensible. Myself included, a lot of mods don't like being directly asked to make moderators, but if there aren't effective changes after asking them then it's only reasonable to ask.
I'm slightly re-opening the discussion about mod-farming here but it does depend hugely on what games, series, circumstances and tenure of said mod positions the person has. There will inevitably be mods who don't know enough about their games to make effective moderation decisions but it's unusual. The site has proven there are people who want to mod a game for the sake of being a moderator but I and the overwhelming majority of runners I know would never accept a position on a game I didn't run properly.
If you encounter such a user I'd bring that issue up with them, because it's always pertinent to the boards
You're a moderator, that decision is up to you haha If load times are variable, and they clearly are, IGT should be added
