how to assign side buttons on the mouse, via XButton1, XButton2, mouse4, mouse5, button4, button5 does not work?

I've seen that some game speedruns use a countdown timer. So, I would like to suggest implementing a new setting, set the timer to -26.19 and press the timer and New Game (or another way to start the speedrun) at the same time. In my opinion, it would be better to use this than a bot that would calculate it (or better yet, change the rules for starting the timer (in my opinion, this would be better, but these are my guesses, it's not important)). I hope that this proposal will be approved or at least paid attention to.

why is the game time taken into account in the speedrun, and not the time through the livesplit, as it is done in other runs, in other games? In the game, game time is only counted in seconds when milliseconds are important as well.
