A few more runs:
- 99 Turkeys, need to be domesticated, quite fun and not extremely long.
- 10 Colonists with Moral Recruitment, e.g. can't just arrest people and persuade them to join. Randy delivered!
Here are some proof of concept runs for variations on existing categories which aren’t as rng or seed dependent:
- Tribal Silver%. Similar to Gold% and with tribal start (since Rich Explorer would trivialize it after one caravan).
- Max Bionic+ Cyborg. Comparing to Max Cyborg, doesn’t require achotech parts or parts requiring tech print researches, just a full set of bionic parts would be enough.
A few more such runs are incoming, uploading 99 turkeys (domesticated as judged by the animals tab) and still working on 8 or 10 colonists with moral recruitment (no arrests allowed, but may be too long and rng heavy).
I mean, it probably won’t be good for the speedrunning.
Idk about Biotech, seems not having as much impact, but don’t know for sure.
Regarding no DLCs category, I think Royalty should be permitted, as it’s more fun to play with and makes some long categories simpler, though not trivial.
Why does the temperature matter for Wondrous percent? AFAIK, nothing for the room impressiveness directly depends on the temperature.
Hello,
I hope your day is going well. The aforementioned category seemed to just disappear at some point and my run has become orphaned. Do you know what happened?
Thanks!
An idea for the goal is Tribal Silver%, I.e. grand silver sculpture. Rich explorer would trivialize just Silver%, but Tribal has a chance to result in a fun medium-length run.
One general thought is to separate categories with a predefined seed and randomized seed, as predefined seed trivializes a lot of categories.
Max cyborg is fun but seems rng heavy and too long due to archotech body parts. Can we have a mini cyborg percent or similar with top craftable prosthetics used?
Hello,
I hope your day is going well. The category rules mention version 1.3 max, I wonder if 1.4 and 1.5 are permitted (core game + maybe royalty). Also, what’s the decision about Biotech and Anomaly DLCs, even if their main features aren’t used?
The video is no longer available...
I've noticed that the game time as reported in-game can be 10-ish minutes lower than the autosplitter time and 20-ish minutes lower than the realtime, when looking at 100% speedruns. There was very little discrepancy in pre-May patch runs though. Does anyone know what has changed and whether Ori in-game time can be reliably tracked on per-split basis?
Note, that I'm pretty happy with the existing auto-splitter and that's just a small thing that bugs me after finishing the run.
I support a 100% No OOB category. Here are few related questions:
- Should the breakages of the wall from the other side (e.g. via Spirit Star) be permitted?
- Should the category be No Major Glitches instead and what should they be?
My opinions are:
- Don't allow breakages of the wall from the other side, since they are based on attacking things out of bounds.
- Have No Major Glitches category, excluding the invulnerability-on-death glitches. While they are cool and technical glitches allowing for a silent swim and extra cutscene skips, I think the level by which they break the game is comparable with out-of-bounds.
Note, that those are purely subjective. I can see how people may consider sentry jump and feeding grounds skip quite major. I wonder what others think.
Just to confirm - does this tracker works well with Afterbirth? Asking, since its name is RebirthItemTracker.
neonomi, what was your schedule for the first attempt and how are you planning to do it now?
Hey,
After getting 1001% Nerd I've got a crazy idea to do a run! But since it will take tens of hours and have a job, I can only do runs with pause allowed.
My rules proposal: ¤ Run starts from empty save. ¤ Run ends when the save displays 1001%. ¤ Timer can be paused during a play with some character, such that the seed and in-game timer are visible. ¤ Timer and game should be resumed from the same moment when it has been paused.
