@dha I think it's unnecessary. If someone wants to write a guide, they can just log in to speedrun.com and post it. If the original author isn't exist as a user, you can mention them at the start of the guide.
I guess it might also lead to confusion or abuse, if users or moderators will change the author without consent from the user.
(Unless there are specific use-cases you think of)
It is perfectly fine to submit several runs to the same category, while your previous runs are still waiting verification.
By the site rules, runs should be verified by the moderators in 0-21 days (after that the moderators are regarded as inactive). So it is very likely that you improve you runs while previous runs are not accepted yet.
When you improve your run at any category, the older (slower) runs are NOT deleted or removed from the leaderboard, they are marked as "obsolete". You can see obsolete runs on the leaderboard with a relevant filter, and on any user profile page you can see their personal obsolete runs if you check the "show obsolete runs" switch. You should submit everything so you can have a history of your attempts.
No idea what could make OBS do that for you if you can record videos with such good quality, but you can check the resources page on the site (under Streaming or Video capture software): https://www.speedrun.com/resources
Maybe something there can help you.
In case of inactive moderators, use this thread: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/dueac
Be sure to read the first post before posting anything.
I present to you the proud citizens of Valhalla: https://www.speedrun.com/users#vh
The video in the livesplit site should help for starting: https://livesplit.org/introduction . The 13-minute video you watched is probably the one by SmallAnt, which is more focused on setting livesplit inside OBS.
If you have more issues that are not covered in the videos, try to ask specific questions for better help.
Welcome to the site!
If you are asking about adding this site to sr.c, don't bother. Read the rules for requesting games to the site: https://www.speedrun.com/requestgame
Your site isn't a game, and by the current rules the site moderators are not accepting generic vocabulary/math games and other educational games.
Only game moderators can edit runs for their game. Since Goober is the moderator of this game, you will have to talk with him to get explanations on the rules/time and this specific run. We (the general community) don't know this game so we can't help.
@caeonosphere Did you set the difficulty variable as sub-category? If so, runs won't appear on the leaderboard until they have a value set for the variable.
If it's a normal variable, my best bet is that your issues are happening because you set a default value for the difficulty. You can see a tooltip near the default option that says something along: "when submitting runs this value will be chosen by default, and leaderboards will be filtered by this value by default".
If you didn't set a value to any of the runs, they would "disappear" because the leaderboard is filtered by the default value, but none have it. The same will also happen, obviously, to a run with a difficulty other than the default.
Note that while the leaderboard is filtered by the default value, if you look at the filters it would seem that the "any" option is chosen instead, that is a visual bug that I reported here.
That's not how this works. The site moderators are aware of everything posted in the feedback thread, and they decide the priority of the suggestions. No use in posting the same thing over and over.
