Hmm, yes, that could work. You are allowed to show the best time of the level in that case.
But please, make sure in next videos that the video quality makes the text readable (I updated the rules). The font is kinda funky by itself, so I should see the numbers clearly.
I added a new category for fire (under misc categories). Have fun with it! Tell me if there are any issues.
Well, if you insist on a category which involves fire, how about one which requires you to die in a fire in each level (if it contains fire of course). You die once, then do the level normally. I feel it might be more fun to run than having to put out every fire (given it returns on death). Burning every crate is also not possible, regarding the levels design.
I assume you mean this for level 16?
This is highly inconsistent for me.
I like this suggestion. Not too short, and enough to be a bit of a challenge for each of the sections. Very well. Edit - Never mind, after thinking about this some more, it will not be nice for us speedrunners to run those kind of sections, because of the inability to quick reset to a specific level. I will just add the IL for each level, everyone is happy.
Well, I disagree. For sharing routes, we have the forums/guides for this, and you also need to practice individual levels anyway if you want to get a good time in the whole game. IL runs are for adding additional competition to the game.
I will add those if you want, it's not like it costs me money or anything :)
I also like IL runs, but with a game with such short levels, I feel it would be... somewhat meaningless to have them here. Some of the levels are too much straightforward, so competition on those would be redundant as well.
I guess your problem here is wrong movement pattern. As I posted in the guides, you need to JUMP from the crates for most things to work properly, and save some time across the game. To jump from a crate, hold the jump button while inside a crate (for at least ~1 second) then release. Double tapping to get out and jump from the crate is slower, and I think I used that only on levels 7/9.
As for level 3 skip, I don't have exact numbers or time, after many times of practice you just "feel" the right spot. Try jumping around the time the crate leaves the ground, and there is a split second you are in the air.
Hmm, the "hold left before starting the speedrun" thingy can cut a whole ~1 second from the run.
I will allow it, since the time is based only on the in-game timer. I updated the rules with this change.
EDIT - now that I look about it more deeply, it won't cut any significant time in the first level, because you need to jump anyway to get inside the crate, and you can jump right from the beginning position.
As a mod of some games, I have two questions regarding IGT settings:
-
For a game which has different Real time and Game time, is there a way to submit a run with both real and game time, but make the game time as the primary time for that game? Right now, the solution I found for the site to tell the game time everywhere, is not posting real time at all.
-
Might be connected, is there a way to sort runs by the game time, in case both real and game time are present? The best example I found for this is "Robot wants Kitty" (https://www.speedrun.com/rwk) There are different categories for RTA and IGT, which require different strategies in the game. But the submissions for IGT are still ranked by their respective RTA time, results in the leaderboard being in a "wrong" order
