The WR history graph is a cool idea though at least
That already existed prior to this update, inside the Statistics page for each leaderboard.

I'm afraid I've got yet another report about the "Followed Games" widget:

Yesterday, when I checked that widget it reported that I had exactly 1000 total visits to the Pepsiman page:

https://i.imgur.com/daDpDiC.png

However, it appears I've discovered about the wonders of time travel and I managed to clock less visits today, sitting at a measly 4 total visits:

https://i.imgur.com/ODmjiYC.png

Wha happun?

PS: The only thing I can think of that could possibly trigger this is that I accidentally removed Pepsiman from my Followed Games list (and promptly re-added it), but does that really affect the amount of visits I've made to a page?

@Hi I'm afraid that doesn't solve this particular issue, since the real problem here is that only site mods can ban people rn, and it stands to reason that a few site mods won't be able to handle every single run with comments.

For comments to be a non-issue they really need to give better moderation capabilities to both leaderboard mods, be it through the ability to disable comments or to enable them to enact "comment bans". Hell, even being able to actually delete the comments themselves would be a step in the right direction, since right now the "deleted" comment box stays there with a "Message deleted" text and the original commenter can come and edit the comment to have the original message back.

Again, I'm not particularly against comments, but opening the floodgates without first having proper ways to moderate them in place is just asking for trouble.

Can confirm that I can't see the graph for IL's, it's forever frozen on the full game graph

Another thing about the "Recent Runs" widget: While I appreciate that it highlights both full game and IL runs alike (finally sending some love towards IL's way), there's no way to distinguish which is which other than taking a guess when looking at the final time.

Distinguishing full game runs vs IL runs is one thing (since the disparity in times should be a dead giveaway), but there's no way to distinguish runs from 2 different ILs other than going to the actual run/IL leaderboard to check, which is a mild inconvenience.

In this example, the runs marked in red are all ILs that belong to different levels:
why is stats still there when you can view it on the side? https://imgur.com/NJiYzHk
@Tutterey While I agree showing the same info twice in the same page is a bit ridiculous, the Statistics page is as of the writing of this post the only place where you can see the WR progression graph, so it still has a reason to stick around for a bit.

Maybe they could make it so that the stats info widget doesn't appear when on this particular tab? It'd make it seem a bit more fleshed out.

Something I forgot to report in my earlier post is that the "Last visited" dates for followed games have a mix of english and whatever your local language is (which in my case it happens to be spanish).

Example:

https://i.imgur.com/daDpDiC.png

EDIT: The "Recent Runs" on the leaderboards actually have the entire date on the local language. While this is marginally better than the previous case, it's still in contrast with the rest of the widget (which is in english).
I like it a lot to be honest but I don't think you are in any position to make demands. You just kinda sound stupid and the fact that this has made you so upset is telling.
So if he doesn't like this, he's automatically stupid? What kind of backwards logic is that?

By that logic, I'd say you're surrounded by idiots on this site, because there's quite a few users that dislike some (if not all) of the new changes.

I think someone mentioned this earlier in the thread, but some categories are not showing up on the leaderboard and no arrow button is appearing either to be able to get to them.

As an example, I could access this particular category through URL but not through the leaderboard UI itself: https://www.speedrun.com/tarzan#All_LettersSketches_PS1

Other comments and minor gripes:

 1. Please bring back the breadcrumb links for forum threads/posts, as they made it a lot easier to navigate the forums.
 2. The font on leaderboards is too small for my taste, for both submitted runs and the UI elements like buttons and stuff, which makes it a bit harder to navigate.
 3. The top 3-4 places don't show the rank in plain text like it used to, and the rest only show the number and not the "st" or "th" (like @Liv mentioned earlier). Not only do I find this a bit odd, it's also inconsistent with the current user profiles, which do show the placement in the old fashion (and quite frankly, I still like that better).
 4. The "Misc." category container no longer has an arrow/chevron icon, so it's a bit hard to distinguish it from the rest as a "container" rather than a proper category.
 5. Info about who moderates a game sounds like something you'd like at the top rather than at the very bottom of the page. I get that everyone might not agree with this, so maybe some setting for Super Mods to re-arrange the widgets of their own leaderboard would help immensely with this.
 6. Following with the idea of widgets, please give us a setting to hide and/or re-arrange certain widgets on our user profiles. I don't particularly have anything to hide from the info on display, but it does give the user a certain feeling of being... exposed.
 7. As for comments on runs, I'm not particularly against them, but given the current bot problem on the forums, I'd prefer to have a way to disable comments on my own runs (and a setting for Super Mods to disable comments on any runs on their leaderboard). Even if we were to keep comments, I think also having a setting that allows you to review comments made on your own runs before they're allowed to be public (like on YouTube) would be a big help to keep them clean.
 8. I fully agree with the idea of having a beta testing environment (and I'd personally love to opt in). Over the past year we've proven ourselves capable of finding bugs and breaking stuff very quickly, so really there's no reason not to harness that power. :)

 1. Minimum age requirement to be registered on the site is 13 years old (due to legal requirements in regards to personal information tracking), so... yeah. I do not foresee good things
 2. If you're truly 11 years old, I wouldn't go nilly willy saying that everywhere, as it can attract the company of less than ideal fellows.

Given that his cached profile from september 2020 indeed shows the longcat background theme (which'd be 2 months prior to the unlocking of all donator perks), I wouldn't say that either.

There's definetely some funny business going on here with the locking/unlocking of theme editing, but I'm not sure we'll ever get to the bottom of it.

Interesting find while I was researching this topic: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/urcdg/1#z3s7d

Basically, it appears that accounts created before february 2017 could edit their theme for free, while accounts created after that date had to donate to unlock that perk. This treatment is specific to theme editing and didn't seem to be applied to gradients and/or badges.

...this still sounds weird to me, because I still feel I could edit themes yet I'm not a donor and I made my account back in december 2018, so there'd seem to be more to this story than meets the eye.

PS: In case anyone's wondering, donation perks all around got unlocked for everyone on november 2020: https://www.speedrun.com/news/570-2020-11-18-donation-perks-unlocked
As far as giving moderators access to this information instead of just banning the cheater, what if moderators change? What if new ones get added, old ones leave, etc. Part of why cheaters should just be banned from submitting runs across the site is because moderation can be abused as well.
Agreed, cheaters should be banned from submitting runs. I think the question here is aimed more towards to "exactly how will we give this information to game moderators so that they can decide what to do with their runs? Will the information be public or just accesible to mods?", since they still have to deal with all runs that were already submitted by the user.
There isn't any easy way to make information accessible to all game moderators without making it accessible to everyone.
The site could very easily append a rule for game moderators to not disclose that information, under the risk of a ban. Also, you could make it so only game moderators for leaderboards that have a verified run or a run awaiting verification from a past offender can access that information (since it's otherwise irrelevant to other moderators).

Yes, leaks can still happen, but it's all about deterrence. Just because it's not a foolproof solution it doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
I think that making a thread like this isn't a terrible idea. The intent isn't to harass people.
Me neither, but that's only because as of the writing of this post game moderators have 0 access to past info on cheaters. However, even if the original intent isn't to harass people, making it available to the broad public will more likely than not lead down that path.

The one issue I'd see with the approach of giving access to that info on a "need-to-know" basis would be in cases where a supermod is deciding whether to accept someone into the moderation team of their game. There'd no real way to give that supermod info on the cheater without disclosing it to everyone else, since currently there's no official "moderator application" state/process like there is for verifying runs: the supermod checks out the user of their own will, and if the user passes they get the role. So it's obviously not without issues, but I believe it can be done.

If there's something we can learn from Twitter (and really here, there's not much to be learned from that cursed platform) it's that people just looove going on witch hunts, and specially more so when they don't have the faintest idea what it's all about and just like to join the band-wagon.

Now, cheating should 100% get you banned and/or at the bare minimum get you a tag on record, marking the ins and outs of all the user's offenses in that regard, with that info being readily available for any leaderboard moderators that have to verify a run from said user. That being said, making that information publicly available for just anyone to see is not going to yield any possitive results and it's just exposing a person unnecessarily (and rather irresponsibly I'd say).

There's a very distinct line between "allowing moderators to make informed decisions" and "broadcasting a person's faults to the whole world". I personally don't think any site can be built with the latter as a foundation without being a magnet for trouble/drama, so I'd advise against it.

Bot's copy-pasting one of my posts from this other thread and it's not even relevant to thread they pasted it in. My guess is that they'll edit a link in later on.
