April would be better for everyone (more preparation time) and I get the feeling that more people would be available in April.
I think I used this program [ http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=12167 ] to go to the Hyman Condo garage and change the apparent Stallion to "none". That is pretty weird that it'd randomly put a glitched thing there that crashes the game, and call it a Stallion. Finding out what caused it could be cool as hell, but whatev.
Huh, that also crashed for me. I'll take a look at the garage's content in a save game editor.
EDIT: I removed a Stallion from the Hyman Condo garage and that fixed it. I have no idea why it caused a crash but here's the modified save if you don't want to do it yourself. http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=55875995755736050675

Can you? I only played it twice but it felt like the bosses/everything else spawned on a timer.
How do I get there from center city without taking a taxi?
Also, how much is admission? On the ticketing site it said $60 for two days, or $35 a day (which is expensive as shit, and I'm not sure about whether I'd want to just pay up front either)
Why is it that starting an SSA race during cop land consistently crashes my game, with or without lance, and with or without "now that's got them really irritated"?
There are several people who run with a controller, and I think one notable example is MisterPost who runs using a controller/mouse, and not a keyboard.
Mostly everyone does use keyboard/mouse though, yeah.
It was only used for green pepper PC runs and PAL console runs, but 1) nobody ever ran on green pepper and it's not gonna happen in the foreseeable future, and 2) console runs are super niche. Besides, the main differentiation that should be made on the leaderboard is between non-Japanese and Japanese versions anyway, so I'm in favour of removing the PAL region from VC.
Let me know if you think otherwise, but for the love of god don't come up with a counterargument that you personally don't vouch for.
just 'cause there isn't a leaderboard doesn't mean you can't run it
Well, I don't really know if I want to shout out individuals and make anyone I don't shout out feel bad, or shout out a large group of people and make it feel less special. Here goes, in any case.
oasiz is fucking based cause he let us play DOS games on his laptop.
I think it was Omega who showed us Jones in the Fast Lane, which we played the fuck out of.
Pitpo was in charge of modding Jones to be much more memey than it already was. Also we got GTAVC co-op WR and Jones co-op WR because we could. It would be a crime to not mention that he also enlightened me with arcade laser-gun games with windows ports (if that's the right way to describe them). Mad Dog McCree is so bad that it's good, and it should be a good time to race all the ones in existence.
Shoutouts to myself for making demonic noises in my sleep. AdamAK, BubbleBobbler, and PeteThePlayer definitely enjoyed that. Speaking of Adam, he purchased Old Village Simulator 1962, which I've yet to try on an actual decent PC but I'm assuming it's still bad.
I probably had more "real talk" with Bubble than anyone else, which is a nice break from whole days of memeage.
On one of the afternoons, I inexplicably felt like complete trash, and Melis helped me feel better before I made myself go to bed.
MizterConfuzing let #gta bois party in his room, which was an absolute great time. It's really nice that he put up with everything just for fun.
I could go on and on but these are some names that stand out to me the most. I've said this to a few people already, but I fucking love all of my friends that I've met through this speedrunning thing. It's a shame that I only get to see some of them once a year, but it's fantastic that I get to see them at all. Also, although this may not be the right thread to say this, I'm slightly regretting the fact that I mostly hung out with the same people I always do and didn't do too much with other peeps. Next year, though.
I don't see an issue with using some way to measure real time for references in-game, since that doesn't really let you do anything new that you wouldn't have been able to do if you were left with only the game (in-game clock). One could argue that for this reason, external timer references should be banned, but on the contrary it goes to show that it literally doesn't matter.
As for using an autosplitter to show values from memory addresses, that's just cheaty as fuck. That's not what autosplitters should be used for anyway.
