speedrun.com is taken seriously and if people are joking around there are consequences.
Joking around is not necessarily a problem. Being silly or making jokes is perfectly ok. The thing is, your posts are borderline spam. You have been posting more frequently on the forums than anyone else, including myself for the past weeks and almost none of it has been helpful or constructive. When you do try to be helpful, you often end up getting corrected later or you just repeat something someone else has already said, and when you make jokes they are usually not funny. People just got fed up with you and asked you to stop. You shouldn't try to make helpful forum posts if you don't know what you're talking about. Only answer a question if you know the answer. If I were to start responding to the streaming/recording/equipment forum I would probably be more of a nuisance then help, I don't know anything about that kind of stuff.
There was a controversy in Wheely 3 that started because I was an idiot.
Everyone makes mistakes and is an idiot sometimes, I used to not be a great moderator either and getting the hang of everything is hard. It's better to learn to handle this kind of stuff late than never, it's good to hear you're going to change.
I'm sorry if anything in this post was too brutally honest, I've chatted with you in the bots deletion thread and you are a fun guy to talk to, it's just that on the src forums it seems like you are making posts for the sake of making posts, and it's not a good thing.
I'm actually 11th, so no need 711gaming has 1500 posts and isnt on the list. I would update it but jackzfiml set the sheet up in a stupid way and updating it is extrmely tedious
yeah you can just paste a zero width space or a blank braille character but then your post isn't truly empty
No, it didn't. It would have been nice to have, a lot of these games don't get enough love because they can't get a leaderboard.
Probably something that uses several double jumps in level 5, to save enough time to barely make a 45 second time possible
unrelated, I have an idea for brick skip in level 6, and will do some tests later
I actually use the discord more than I use support hub because it's so much easier to just spam a bunch of links to suspicious users instead of filing a report for each one.
double jump 5 saves only 0.05 over single bonk, so bottom bonk + dj would save 0.05 over double bonk. that's still not even enough for 46.0xx
TAS would not get "ez sub 46" with the current route
changing the way runs are timed would mean retiming all of the 300+ runs for this game, which I don't feel like doing.
Actually, now that I think about it, when I first discovered the double jump I didn't really try too hard to find use for it. I did a bunch of tests, found out it was impossible to skip any bricks with it, and assumed it saved no time. I checked and it is slightly faster, but if you did multiple of them it might be possible to save like .2 with them. I will check later and attempt to find a route that uses multiple double jumps that isn't slower, but it probably won't be realistic for runs yet. Each double jump is frame perfect, the difficulty of doing 4 of them would be like doing double bonk twice in a row. However, I'm fairly confident that there are no major skips using the double jump, and probably no major skips left in the entire game.
double bonk makes a 46.1xx barely possible, a sub 46 won't be happening. Skipping the last brick in level 6 unfortunately doesn't seem possible. I've explained everything I've tried in this post: https://www.speedrun.com/post/y6k5b
Edit: before @Spectisy mentions it, double jump only saves 0.05 seconds (I timed it)
The game isn't active enough to have a discord, discussion on the forums is fine.
@LapisBlood then message any moderator with your situation and hopefully they'll verify your run
@redspec , @kingdinocharge you should probably do the same instead of bragging about how long you've been waiting
To start, I'd recommend joining the discord server for whatever game you want to run. The people there will be able to help you learn the game and give you access to resources and other helpful stuff. Here are the invites to the servers: OoT: https://discord.com/invite/7FYGh3d MM: https://discord.com/invite/0TWAYeTG1IU9XKTK
Welcome to the site, and good luck! :)
From the site rules:
Moderators are generally given 21 days to process run submissions ... If you are unable to handle these tasks, please request other runners of the game to help moderate.
There isn't really an excuse for so many people to have runs pending for months. Even though minecraft has a ton of mods, if there are so many runs that people aren't getting their runs verified reasonably quickly then the existing mods need to be more active and/or more moderators need to be added.
Now that I'm done ranting, open a ticket in the minecraft discord and ask for your run to be verified, explain that it's been several weeks and they should go and verify it.
