Just because they acquired the site to make money doesn't mean they have done nothing good.

Personally I like the new layout/font on the profile and front page, just don't like having the news there. I'm super excited for the mod tools, and before they started working on changes, the site was running way faster than it used to when Pac was the owner. And even though most staff don't speedrun, @starsmiley, @Meta, and @lewisandspark all are active speedrunners and I trust them. And even though there was no communication for a while, they are listening to feedback. They read the forums now and several of the mod tools that will be in the upcoming update have been heavily requested for years.
waste of your time which could have been spent benefiting humanity
i completely agree with the whole stop bullying elo over literally everything but this is the worst argument you can make

like why did you make this forum post when you could benefit humanity by helping starving african children!!!!!!11!!1!! its such a dumb thing to say

anyways, i would state my opinion more clearly but i'd rather just copy paste someone else's message that explains my view more clearly than I could state it
a bit off-topic: Often it seems people in the forums just want to see the worst in how ELO handles things. Positive stuff also happened since the takeover. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying everything is awesome... The reality is somewhere in between. There are people behind that and they are doing their job.
There are way, way, way too many people with 100+ posts

we probably don't even have all of the 500+ people, adding 100+ would probably quadruple the size of the list, maybe more
How does this work? Even if you have 10 posts a day you don't appear on the leaderboard even if you filter by posts per day. I don't see it being fair.
Only users with more than 500 posts appear on the list. Posts per day is your number of posts divided by your account age in days.

Elevator jump is consistent, but much harder than going the long way. It also barely saves time without fast fall.
Most actually get a kick out of kirbo (especially @Merl_) so I put kirbo in there.
I was told that there was a kirbo tournament going on so I joined and it ended up being wheely 4 or something stupid like that

Anyways, about kirbo tournament matches. Stuff like elevator jump and fast fall aren't consistent strats, so runners would have to balance speed and safe strats to win. The problem is that there will be some close finishes, and there needs to be a way to determine a winner.

Anyways, the game isn't as boring as @Oreo321 says, he seems to have a passionate hatred for the game. I have no idea if this will work in a tournament setting, or if I'll even be able to participate (I have no schedule and can't stream runs).

I enjoy webgames, and can give you a few recommendations.

In the 30-60 minute range, Peral - I don't know much about this game, I saw it in the ad thread. I'll just post someone else's description instead.
Last month, I advertised pico8 games in general, with a slight emphasis on the small size of the games due to its intentionally restrictive limits. Well, a recent pico-8 game proves that developers can find ways past the limits: Peral.

This game is gigantic for a game made with pico-8, with a map big & twisty enough to get lost in. And you get to control a submarine that fights against underwater tanks, which is all kinds of awesome.

So if you've passed on pico-8 games because you'd prefer something in the 30-60 minute range, give Peral a try!
https://www.speedrun.com/peral Three Goblets - Long speedgame with multiple categories with varying lengths. If you like short runs or long runs it's pretty good. You fight monsters in different levels to boost your stats and make it farther into the game. https://www.speedrun.com/three_goblets

Duck Life - Classic flash game with tons of speedrun categories, the coolmathgames version of the game is playable on the web and is ~20 minutes long https://www.speedrun.com/dl1

Moderators don't need to verify runs every time they log in. How have you tried contacting them, and what exactly is your problem?

youtube is objectively better, and has tools made for it that makes runs easier to verify.

 1. Read this thread: https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/6tgel
 2. Have you actually tried this at all? You have no way of knowing if this is even possible, or if the lap would count.

I'd recommend checking out the advertisement thread

This is a thread where people posted games that they enjoyed running, so it's a pretty good place to look. You can also go to this link to view popular PC games for speedrunning, and this link for popular web games.

Jon was hospitalized 28 times as a child. Children's National Hospital helped Jon restore his health and achieve his dreams of being an Olympic athlete.

When he woke up in September 2011, he did not have a lot of nutrition (he only needed to feed himself a bit of liquid milk and milk powder), and his heart rate was below normal. By the time of his 2008 Summer Gold medal match with the United States in the Summer Sevens, Jon had been severely injured in a car crash. All five of his arms were severely bruised, his wrist shot and he had never seen a player get worse. Jon had been hit by a car, and he was forced to fall more than 20 feet before being dropped off at a hospital.

Jon's friends and coaches would not accept that his leg was seriously injured, so they had him hospitalized, and his team went to South Florida to try and help him find a job as a chef there. The local restaurant he was going to work at was named "Jacks Nuts," so he hired a chef from the community.

The next day, Nick was driving to work when he felt a foot spasming and got worried that he might have to pull over to grab a bus ticket. He figured he'd run up the side of the road and look to see if he could get some rest before being sent to South Florida. After that he went to work one more time, only to have the last seat on
