As I said in Discord I'm interested in bringing and running on the side a Risk Legacy, Tournament Style which we can have a number off players playing. To finish a fully signed board we need to have 15 games, 5 players per game. In a larger tournament standing we can do anything below or up to 30-40 players with room for lower bracket climbs.
Basically the person who ends up having their name on the board the most by the last game would be the winner. They would sign and name the world/board as well. They would keep that Signed board and we could think of other things to do for it as well.
I would like to know if staff would be interested in working on this with me and I'll bring up the copy of the game to create a very special NASA 2017 edition of the board by end result.
As a speedrun community we have grown since the games launch and we now have our own Discord for SPEEDRUN related ONLY discussions etc. The previous community is still a great place for general chat for the game and other things, but the new Discord will serve as our own hub for our speed related activities.

Booking should cost you nothing. You can always cancel or change things before you would be there.
So I'm working on adding Mackerel% to the board, it's a meme run but requires some meaningful routing that myself and some other people have put in work on. Credit to Ryanide and CasualBreloom and anyone else that assisted in this. Ryanide actually narrowed it down further and so we now have it being a good possibility. If you don't know anything about this Meme run I'll elaborate more soon or you can ask me or Ryanide about it in discord. Still needs a bit more work tho.
As the title says the purpose of this thread will be to " List any tricks, skips and or Glitches. "
When adding to this thread please put in details of the TSG (Specifics to it such as where and how to do it.) and include a Vod if one is available. You must also state the latest patch and platform(s) it was used in if known and please try to credit the people responsible for it properly as well.
Ideally the videos should be clean 1 shot examples with no commentary unless necessary, provide the additional information as a description with the post as it would be more useful in most cases.
The Main Idea for this is having it all available in one place and it would be good to have it here on our boards for easy access to new and current runners. This thread will be used to gather and compile a Master Guide later on.
Latest patches for regions/platforms; PS4 JPN ver 1.05 PS4 NA ver 1.03 PS4 EUR ver 1.03 PC ver 1.00
To answer a question before so many ask about it.
PC will not be getting its own board currently because with how timing and the current hardware is for console it's comparable. There is already 4 difficulties for each category we will suffice with tagging our submissions with our platform appropriately with its latest patch version for its region. At the time of writing this PC version is having preformence issues which is expected of most ports.
Because E does not include any difference in actual gameplay and requires you to replay last section to c/d again to get it. It does not go straight into it on its own and therefore not included currently.
A,B and C/D all have a definitive start and end point of there own with gameplay differences where as E is just more like a outro cutscene/credit extender. Just not enough in it to merit it's inclusion.
On a logical stand point it's pretty useless to do an all ending run currently and very little of that would and be a serious run anyways and a huge amount of time. Would take around 8 hrs just to do A-E. We have a full game category for A to C or D atm anyways and that's for New Game. I don't see a single sitting rta for all endings at this time being a thing worth having as it would be very empty.
This would have been a better thing to post in the category discussion.
I have added NG+ B and C/D routes to the board. (C/D could end up being split up depending on differences for the last section resulting in that decision.) New Game Any% has also been added - This category is for Completing from fresh data Routes A, B and Either C or D back to back. All relevant rules for the categories are listed and subject to change if necessary.
Platform fir the event on personal preference doesn't mater not doing this for viewer base anyways but id like to see NASA get more attention etc. I don't know if moving platforms would make that easier of not because it would involve more publicizing if they want a potentially larger viewere base. If we stream to twitch random ppl are likely to drop in without publicizing much as with the large amount of ppl on that platform for viewers.
I dunno about this because that could also start tieing down NASA like other events in future...?
K i should be good to go on my end.
interested but i have nothing to contribute towards the help, i suck at MP but its fun anyways.
As I said I'm looking into it but I have my doubts on that currently. I'd say we should continue focusing on latest patch runs for submissions, Older submissions will be sorted and most likely moved to hidden category if things get drastically different in patches.
I posted my thoughts on the saves regarding PC on the Discord, but to summarize it here: I do not like the idea if it is possible because I would like to keep PC as close to Console in terms of rules if at all possible Unless there is major differences between them. Someone else would have had to make the file if thats even possible to share and it would need to be checked out from us before it would even be allowed and set the parameters for each save as a base line, such as the lvl start and what items or w.e are on it and at what points is at.
I will be willing to look at also Vanilla V1.00 runs in the future concerning older tech being patched out with the game fixes related to crashes and freezing etc. The tech that was patched was most likely accidental unless it was done because it had major game breaks on a casual play.
Allot of what was mentioned would not work properly at least my understanding of what you said with the game.
Also you can just save over on a different slot instead of the one that was used to start from. So you could keep a base file for A finished and B finished and the leave slot 3 open and save there for runs it's a similarthing I am doing with the old one considering it follows the same parameters.
I would not allow them to use casual files if we use the mentioned as it would have to be something that was submitted as a run or at least comparable to that, if they intentionally botched the previous runs for requirements to do B or C it would be evident in the previous runs to get a better follow up run being as you'd see them be inconsistently better during that run.
Again I'm not sure on this yet, And doing it as; To do B: playing A and then B makes its more of a joint category and much longer. Same with adding on C the game just became over 5 hrs just to do those as one when we are looking more at the individual route and not the combined yet as that would be more of an endurance category.
Just my imos on this and trying to be as open about it as possible we are all playing the game and should be herd atleast.
Some one mentioned a possibility of people submitting bad runs on purpose to gain a better later run. But if that was the case it would be noticeable would it not being as they would not on that skill and practice level achieve a far superior later run for the advanced categories from the previous one?
The next categories I want to discuss are B and C for Any%. The trouble with these is that if we allow set up or prep'd files it gives people advantages that have more time to do this. So I'm thinking about having a requirement to do those runs where previous Submitted run files for the ones before them are used to Start from. This does pose a bit of a disadvantage if you got under-leveled from a previous Route or bad drops etc, but It allows a more fair ground in going for them.
Basically; To submit a B run you need to be using your fastest submitted A run. To submit a C run you need to be using your fastest submitted B run. ^ The above would also apply to D. So to attempt these you would need to make sure you save on a different slot to preserve those Run files for attempts. All other rules would follow this requirement for the Main Route Runs.
Not Sure about doing E atm, I'm thinking the best focus would be on Routes with actual gameplay additions or differences. There are a few other endings but I think if we do allow some of them later on they would be meme runs in a sense. Example Fish%
Gonna be calling up my transportation methods and the hotel before I fill in my registration so it's somewhat accurate but I should be there 21st afternoon till 27th of that night or 28th in morning.
