^ This is still pretty much the case. The 'problem' with statistics are that they're always nice to have, but never unmissable. As such the chance of them being pushed back by other things is fairly big, it's more 'I feel like working on statistics' than 'statistics should really be added now' that will determine when they'll happen.
I do want to point out that the API already supports getting a leaderboard at a certain date. Obviously the data isn't formatted for nice manual viewing like that, but if someone with some coding knowledge has too much free time and wants to have a record history, the API is ready to allow them to code that.
Here is my thread: http://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/0xphf
I would like this to have just my posts. Anything anybody wants to say about what I post should be in a comment section type of thing underneath each individual post. Basically instead of continuing the thread, anybody who wants to contribute can leave a reply to the day's post. I would like every comment on there that isn't in the format of a daily post to be moved to a comment/reply section within each post.
I agree with kirkq, this sounds a whole lot like a blog. While I don't think having something like that is bad, I don't think it fits as being part of the forum (code), imo. Can't tell you when/if it'll happen, but it would definitely be low priority with a lot of things that need to happen that have higher priority.
http://www.speedrun.com/post/z90b8 Update on this? I think most people like it.
Alright, It's been implemented. I'm not 100% convinced it's an improvement over the old way in practice, but since a lot of people wanted it, I'd like to give it a shot and see what people think of it when actually implemented.
Any reason why resources for any games can only be added by mods? Very limiting for no real gain imo
Agreed. It's been changed now: adding resources to games is no longer limited to mods. Instead, game resources can now be submitted by all users that have a verified run in that game. Hopefully this strikes a good balance between accessibility and quality control.
Fixed the guide thing.
Jumpyluff: Yup, last time i was fixed for that url specifically, should now be fixed for all urls so unless something breaks, that error won't occur in the future.
Would it be possible to somehow differentiate the runs of my followed games on the main page from other new runs? Maybe a line or something.
Yeah, that makes sense. Need to think about how exactly when I have time.
If possible, could you add an option to receive notification for forum posts in moderated games?
As PackSciences said, just follow the games. Adding a duplicate option doesn't seem like a good idea. What may be a better idea is (an option) to automatically follow games you moderate (i.e. when you become a mod, you automatically follow the game. Unfollowing is still possible ofc). That might still be too specific to be worth implementing though.
Yesterday I didn't receive email notification about a run on a game i moderate on. I did get a notification on the site tho.
Sorry I didn't respond earlier, looked into it before but couldn't find a cause. Right now I'm thinking the issue was the same as psychonauter had, so saving the settings again should fix it.
For Super Mario Sunshine I still get notifications for IL (in this case single star) WRs on the website, even though those notifications are disabled in my sms follow settings and the default settings.
Thanks, it was a bug causing the old settings to not be replaced but added to when saving game specific notification settings. It's been fixed now, but you'll have the save the settings again to cause the old settings to be properly replaced now. Note that in your case I already did that for SMS to check it was actually fixed, but you still need to re-save any other games you've followed and have customized the game specific settings of.
SBCz:
They seem to be fine in IE7. Not so much in IE5 (don't have access to IE6 atm), but then again the whole navigation bar (and site) is rather quirky in that.
However, unlike the leaderboards, the site is at least useable without easy access to your notifications. So, if anyone wants to provide a simple solution I'll gladly implement it, but I'm not going to be spending time on figuring out how to fix it myself.
SBCz: It was fixed for games without misc categories but not for games with, which is why I missed it. Should work in either case now. The navigation bar should also look slightly less horrible in old IE versions since it was annoying me. Obviously still not completely normal, but that's ancient browsers for you.
PackSciences: Fixed, thanks.
The Guides and Resources links in the game sidemenu will now be marked as empty if they are. Wasn't sure if the Forum link should be marked as well, so it isn't right now.
Also the boxes on the about page are aligned now.
I have three (although the latter probably won't be attained to for obsolete reasons).

The first is actually notifications when people post on a forum, I believe it's meant to do this but I get no notification at all when someone posts on a forum after me (if I've missed a setting then I'm sorry).
You didn't miss anything, there was indeed a bug which is now fixed, thanks! (I'm actually surprised no one else reported this before, it wasn't a recent bug either.)
IE6 can't log in to the site. If you click "log in" it simply refreshes the page.
Only briefly tested this but I was able to log in just fine so I'm not sure what'd be going on there.
IE6 + 7 can't view ANY of the leaderboards and can only stalk the recent times added on the main page.
Fixed.
As for the 'realness' of bugs on old IE versions, while we're not going to be making sure that the site works as well on them as on newer browsers if it's a simple issue it's still worth fixing imo. Regardless, even bugs that won't be fixed are still good to at least know about.
Would there be a way to distinguish between whether a game sidebar resource (Such as Guides, Resources etc) is empty or not (Probably by colour?)
Yeah, I'll look into the best way to differentiate.
I had a strange bug today and it's not the first time this issue happens, i'm submitting a run which is verified but apparently the record isn't showed on the "Latest runs" board...
I'm not sure what run you mean. Your only recent run I think is in Free Running 2 and that shows up on the front page just fine.
Nice! Btw, instead of http://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/0xphf/1#j4rdt you can use http://www.speedrun.com/post/j4rdt which links to the same post.
YTXZ: They're not hidden because there's not an actual button to unhide/hide them right now, I've made a note of that such a button still needs to be added.
PackSciences: Fixed, thanks.
This, as well as other timing related things that people have requested for a long time now, has been on halt since all of us have either been working on other things or haven't had time to work on it. Now, I'm hesitant to promise too much as other things might pop up and take precedence, so lets just say that as it stands, there are not a lot of things on the todo list with a higher priority than this.
In the meantime, disabling the 'Show empty time columns' option (which you've already disabled in Quake) might offer some help (it's not a proper solution, but better than nothing). Just like the In-game time column doesn't show up for full-game categories where there are no runs that have an IGT set, the Real time column won't show up for IL's where there are no runs that have RT set.
I like the 'The Site' forum as much as anyone, but it isn't the only forum on the site so I don't see how linking to it specifically in the navigation bar makes sense. I'm guessing you just meant the bug Kotti posted about in the other thread though, in which case that's fixed ;)
mugg1991: kirkq: Nothing was changed in this respect on our end. I also couldn't replicate it, other than that it still uses a silly amount of processing power (which might have caused the lag if you're on an old pc or running a lot of things at once).
roryextralife: Deleted the game.
PurpleSunDeryl: It is supermods only, but recently (well, over a month ago) it was changed so that games that have been on the site for over 2 weeks can only be deleted by full mods to prevent possible abuse or mistakes.
While I still stand by what I wrote in my previous post, I've added PSN Download since after consideration, it's probably easier to switch from that to whatever system gets implemented to deal with slightly different versions like this.
In the same spirit, I've also added the following platforms: Game Boy Player Super Gameboy 2 Macintosh Linux
