That's a good idea, a work around for now is adding a description of the variable to the additional rules part that you get along with the variable. [This is shown underneath any existing rules given in the categories section, and does not overwrite anything]

If you're looking at emulators then talk to the mods of the games you're going to be running. Certain emulators don't emulate the speed of the actual game, loads and such properly, which can skew timings. I know this is a huge problem for the VisualBoyAdvance GBA emulator, and is a problem for others too.

As long as the webcam can record at 30FPS (So that there's no frame skips in the recording) most boards should allow you to use a recording of the screen, which will be the cheapest.

The best option however, would be to get a capture card. I have no experience with these so unfortunately I can't inform you on them, perhaps another forum poster can.

@HolySanctum, @Deln - I believe this is one of the outlier cases where the 3 week inactivity period should be overlooked. HolySanctum's posts are 3 months old, neither of which have been replied to. The Mod's Twitter has been inactive for about three weeks, the Youtube account 4 months, and the Twitch account 6-7months, since their last highlight at least.

The Mod shows no care for the board, and seems to have no intention of doing anything with it. [Note that there are 15 games that he is the exclusive Super Mod over, which only have an any% category, each having no rules defined. They seem to be a person who submits for a game simply to have power over that board.]

If you were to find a wrong warp you would likely have to be looking at the code for the game. You will need to be finding what bytes the game calls first when you originally warp, and then you will need to see if you can change those bytes to something else.

@Ditch_eVo - Only the site admins can make you a mod of the game, and just like you and I, they have lives to live too. Be patient, someone will deal with it soon.

@Koalarific - Although the thread says 3 weeks, it is also expected that you try all contact methods to contact the mod. The mod is VERY active on twitter, their last post being ~30mins ago from this post, and depending on how you messaged them on Twitch, may not be an overall good way to try and contact them.

I'm sure Hitbox has its goods and bads, just as Twitch and Youtube has its share, however Hitbox can't hideout forever and they too will eventually have to succumb to the copyright claims and such, maybe not for a couple of years, but it will happen.

As far as I know there is currently a limit of 15 follows per user, so if you're following 15 games it may disappear?

@mrmutantduck - Whilst it is an odd decision to ban a version of the game you should give them due time to respond to you on the forums. Not everyone can be online everyday, and even when they are on they may not check the forums of the games they moderate.

I have made a short post in the topic you made, telling them about having sub-categories for the runs so that they can be inclusive rather than exclusive.

@Frienzied_coder The mod is a super mod (You can tell because the sword next to his name is red, a regular mod is green - Super Mods aren't series exclusive since series mods can have their powers retracted in individual games in the series)

However, yes the mod is inactive and has been for the past 2 months, and doesn't seem to be active on most of his social media accounts.

Goomba, the mod for Magicite was last online 3 hours ago. I'm going to assume you used Twitch to message them, in which case it's entirely possible that your message has gone to their spam folder.

Please at least try using the game's leaderboard forum first if you have any problems/inquiries about the game.

Anything you find enjoyable should be a good speedrun choice. A lot of people here are going to be preferential and biased on what they run so it's best not to ask that.

But if you insist on asking the question, then a counter-question is what platforms do you own, and what genres do you like? PC, PS4, Xbox/Horror, Action, Collectathons, etc, etc.

A quick look at the IDs of the videos suggest that when the videos converted they all got new IDs rather than keeping their old ones. I doubt there is anyway to automate the change.
