I'm gonna practice my butt off whenever I have time!
Also as much as I absolutely adore the Small Soldiers speed run, if you're looking for games to cut from the accepts, I don't mind giving it up - I don't own the official hardware for it at the moment and whilst that's not a big deal and I could get the official hardware, if cutting that gives someone else the chance to get their run in or free up space then I won't mind one bit.
Conversely, if you think you'd rather Small Soldiers than Futurama then that's perfectly cool and I'll get everything hardware wise.
Basically, as cool as it is to have two runs and I'm very appreciative, I don't mind just focusing everything I have on to one specific game if that makes it easier for scheduling purposes!
Hope that's okay,
On that note, I think the EST for Small Soldiers can go down to 35:00 if it does go through
No problem, I would prefer to know that it's more likely not going to happen than not knowing at all - if it can't happen then it can't happen so there's no need getting in tiswas about it. :D
I think a few of us felt like we weren't getting through to you on several mediums so it's nice to just have anything to be honest.
Looking forward to i58 if it does happen and maybe even have a meetup in London if i57 falls through?
I really really loved this little event, huge shoutout to flicky and planks for putting it all together.
There's been so much said already that I don't know if I could add anything worthwhile.
I'd really be up for the two events a year thing, I think if they wanted to do three that we could probably do it but there'd be some burnout, understandably, from runners who went to all three.
Ever since I really thought about coming to meetups (like mid-march this year) I thought there would be more actual running events in England and I think this fills that hole perfectly. Obviously, I'll be in China for the one in December but I'm gonna be at all of the next ones for sure.
I'll agree with George in that I liked the atmosphere too but it was just too loud, I'd like people to always be walking past and being interested in what we we're doing because I quite like explaining to people what's going on. Hopefuly the next placement around the FGC/esports can solve this.
I sort of liked the fact that the stream wasn't 24/7 because it gave some time (maybe too much of it) to do some chillout activities. But I get that it's kinda the norm now for events to be round the clock so whatever.
Again, I hope this grows the UK scene more and the next event is an even bigger success, if they were impressed with the 2.5k, ESA's numbers will definitely deliver if we can get anywhere near that sort of area with some more advertising and promotion of the event.
Is there a way I could be moved back?
All the practice I've done on sands of time has led to crash after crash and I don't fancy SGDQv2 I'd really like to sort it out before the run but I'm not gonna be at home all of thursday because I'll be in China doing a visa application thing.
There's a few runs with around 1h 20m estimate so it hopefully isn't too much of a problem, if not then I'll run anyway but I'm not entirely hopeful it'll go smoothly :P
