There are approximately 1,664 players in the NFL, yet 98.2 million people watched the last Super Bowl. People may enjoy watching the NFL but not wish to play, or may not have the necessary skills to play. This is the same for speedrunning - a high amount of viewers shouldn't define how many runners the game has. Instead, people should run because they want to and would gain pleasure and enjoyment out of it. If the extent of their enjoyment is limited to just watching, then so be it.
Thanks v. much good sir/madam. Enjoy your day!
Hi there, I'm looking to create a series for two games that already exist on the site - is there a different process, or should I just request it through the "Request series" page? Thanks very much!
There's one that's super useless (will try and get a video) where if you put the PS2 disc in wrong, all cars that you drive go at the same speed as if they were destroyed. Traffic cars that you're not in go normally, but as soon as you get it they go down to the lowest possible speed. INSANELY useless for a speedun lol
Hi there,
I love this game - have played it casually for about 10 years and would love to start running it. However, I don't have a capture card for my PS2, and I would record with my computer webcam. I know some games don't allow this, but is it ok for SHAR?
Thanks very much for your help!
I mean, the most up-to-date TAS I can find does it in 4:54.032, which is basically the WR strats done perfectly for the entire run, plus probs a few TAS-only timesaves. Even if you take out the TAS-only stuff, that's still likely a 4:54.x. I reckon people need to start trying these "TAS-only" tricks and try and make them a viable timesave for an RTA run. But like @voidedifbroken and @Loven2run are saying, it does seem like there are still a few timesaves under the current strats - only time will tell if they're enough for a sub-4:54.
It feels like there would have to be another timesave found to cut off the 746 ms of the current WR. It kinda feels like the current strats have exhausted possible timesaves.
As far as I'm aware, this works for all SMB codes (see here: http://www.zekeragsdale.com/mario/ ), but it may require a console reset to apply.
Hey there,
To play AISSON on OpenEMU, first open your SMB rom, then make sure the core is on FCEUX. Then in the floating menu, select "Cheats" -> "Add cheat", then just type in the cheat code (AISSON), click "Enable now" then click "Add cheat".
Hope that works, and enjoy your holiday!
Follow this link to join the El Tigre speedrunning Discord, where you can chat with other El Tigre runners, share strats and resources and brag about your PB!
I'd agree with @YourFreeChicken - there just doesn't seem like there'd be heaps to talk about, what with so many things getting covered by streamers. Plus, most speedrunning podcasts seem to be about series / communities, like Pokemon series or Zelda series, rather than just a single game.
Hi there,
Deeply apologise if this question has been asked many times already, but does anyone know how to get an input display for OpenEMU? I am using the program on macOS Catalina (10.15) and using keyboard, not a controller.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks very much!
Hi there all,
My name's Oliver, and I'm a Canadian student living in Indonesia. I run El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, and am a mod for the game (I got it added to the site). Really looking forward to expanding into other games and getting to become a greater part of this awesome community. Glad to be here!
Cheers, JUNØ117
