Last week to get your submissions in for the InstaSpeedathon. Event will be held at the end of March

Due to a delay in the timetable of InstaSpeedathon 2018, the submissions have been re-opened until the 4th of March. This will not affect runs which are already on the schedule. If anyone would like to submit extra runs, please feel free to do so

Date change for the marathon again, update will be made fairly soon.

The date of the marathon is now confirmed to be the 3rd of March. The schedule is also pretty much complete therefore please feel free to check it out to see which runs are hosted on the marathon

I've used PPSSPP 1.5.4 and, honestly, there doesn't appear to be any difference between 1.5.4 and 1.4.2. As Weez has stated, I'm sure you can just go ahead and use that one :)

@UnFantasmaMas Thank you for confirming the times for me. I have made a basic outline for the schedule at current, if you could possibly have a look at it to see if the times I have put on there are ok for you in your timezone. The event is likely going to take place on a weekend anyway (most likely the 24th). If the time of your run needs to be changed then please do let me know as soon as possible. I would also recommend that you join the Discord Server for the marathon as we can discuss more about the marathon there :)

@Ponk Thank you for the confirmation on times. From the schedule, your run is currently planned for 12:46 on the day. If anything does change then please let me know, I also recommend you to join the Discord server as I am quite active on there as well. Thank you also for the donation incentive idea :)

@YW1 Thank you for the confirmation. Due to a shortage of runs, the marathon may have to run on 1 day only, and as many runners are only available on weekends, the date may have to be changed to the weekend. Could you possibly let me know of your availability on the 24th /25th. If you are not available then there is no need to worry as I can still, potentially, host the run on the 27th, or any other day during that week.

I'm not sure if this is currently a feature, although if it isn't, I was wondering if there could be marathon notifications implemented. For example, when someone submits a run to a marathon, if the submission is successful (or Moved to Phase 1), the runner gets a notification about it. Also notifications about if there's a new forum post in a marathon someone has submitted a run to and when the schedule is made (if possible). For the moderators as well, there could be a notification when someone submits a run to the marathon.

Just a few suggestions (apologies if this is in the wrong place)

Initial Cuts have now been made for Instaspeedathon 2018. This is by no means the final cuts as of yet, although I would like to know of people's availability to make the schedule. Cuts for the Instapeedathon 2018 are marked under Phase 1 in the Sumited runs section The marathon is planned to run over 2 or 3 consecutive days (provisionally 26th - 28th of February). Each day will be streaming from 9am to around 10pm (GMT) therefore, for the schedule, please check your availability between these times in your own timezones. I would also like to announce that I have sorted out the Discord server for Instaspeedathon. Please bare in mind that anyone can join the server, although you may only have access to the Instaspeedathon channel if you are taking part. This will also be used for me to communicate with the runner during the marathon. If your run is moved up to Phase 1, please reply to this thread with which times you are available to take part, with reference to the times I have mentioned above. I will then be able to sort out the schedule for the marathon. Likewise, if your run is in Phase 1 and you are unable to take part, please let me know ASAP so that I can make alternate arrangements. I am hoping to sort out the schedule by the middle of January 2018

EDIT -- I would also like to add, if anyone has any Donation Incentives they would like to have on their run, please let me know as a reply. Donations / Charity Donations are still to be confirmed, although if they do happen then if anyone would like a Donation Incentive for their run then they can submit them here :)

General information update. New information added with regards to the recent events with regards to my setup

If I am unable to stream, then the plan is to host the runner's channel on Twitch (if the runner is also willing to stream their run in the marathon). I will keep you all updated. I should know by around Christmas time if I am able to stream the marathon

The plan is that the runs will be done live. The way I'm planning it is, if I am able to stream the event on my channel, that I will be capturing the stream of whoever is running at the current time. The runner will also be with myself in a Discord Voice Chat (if possible). If I am unable to stream, then I will, instead, be hosting the runner's channel at the scheduled time of the run, although I will still (supposedly) be in a Voice Chat with the runner. If, however, the runner is not available to stream their run live, if I am able to stream the event, the runner can request that a video will be in place of their run, although the runner can still be in a Voice Chat with me if they so wish.

Unfortunately, my streaming laptop is pretty much unable to livestream anymore due to it having some issues and those issues causing it to crash, therefore I may have to think of a workaround to how InstaSpeedathon 2018 will go ahead. I do not want to cancel this event as there have now been quite a few submissions, and all of them do look like games I would like to feature in the marathon, therefore, unless I get a better setup or can get back to streaming on my current setup, a different way to host this marathon will have to go ahead. I will keep everyone up to date on news in relation to this. If you have any queries about this, please don't hesitate to let me know (you can reply to this thread with any queries you may have)

There are some individuals who think it's funny to post troll submissions to this marathon. Whereas I have found some to be quite funny myself, I am not going to be putting up with it any longer. Any troll submissions which are found from now onward will be removed from the submitted runs

After seeing that I've pretty much sorted everything for the marathon, I've decided to give people more time to submit runs to the marathon, therefore the submissions will now be opening tomorrow (7th October) as opposed to the 16th of October :D

PLEASE BE SURE TO SUBMIT YOUR RUN BEFORE THE DEADLINE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE.

The link to the submission form will appear on the left sidebar from the 16th of October. Submissions will be processed through through the speedrun.com submission form.

Please make sure to check your availability for the marathon prior to submitting. Unfortunately, I will not be able to host the event over 24-hours, therefore please make sure that you are available between 9am and 10pm (GMT) on the day of your run. If you are not available, then I advise that you do not submit a run for this event. It is likely in future that the event will run over 24-hours, though for now it will not be possible.

[section=Rules for submitting]

• Only submit your own run for the marathon. Submitting someone else's run will lead to an automatic DQ
• Make sure to allow some time in your submission for inconsistencies or strat failures. Likewise, do not be excessive with your leeway. Around 10 minutes should be enough to allow for mistakes. You do not need to include setup time as this will be added by myself
• Please do not submit excessively long runs. Longer runs will, essentially, mean less runs during the event, therefore any excessively long runs will be denied. Maximum of about 3 hours per run would be a decent amount
• Please do not submit races to this event. As much as I like a good speed race, unfortunately I won't be able to allow for races for the event this time around. This is likely to change in the future, but for InstaSpeedathon 2018, races will not be allowed.
• Make sure that you submit a decent run. It doesn't have to be a PB run, but it does have to be a decent run showcasing good movement techniques and strategies. You also do not have to be the WR holder for the game you want to submit, just make sure that you know the speedrun well enough to submit a run

[section=Successful Runs] If your submission is successful, please make sure to check the schedule for when your run is planned for. If you are unable to participate during your chosen time slot, please let me know ASAP (A thread will be made in advance for this). That way I can arrange for your run to be either rescheduled for the marathon. Likewise, if you'd like for your run to be removed from the schedule, please let me know so that I can arrange for another runner to take the available time slot. The deadline for Schedule changes will be Mid-February 2017. If after this time you notify me that you are unavailable, your run will be removed from the event and we will not be able to reschedule any alternative runners to take your place in the marathon.
