Using multiple bombs during By Any Means Necessary (A3M6) on the roof top is actually faster. You can save some IEDs by using the GL for the dialogues skips or use grenades, you can help yourself with the focus for the dialogue skips too. You also save an extra IED by using the GL on one of the spawns of the first enemies. The setup consists of throwing 4 IEDs (one proxy and 3 normal IED) to deal huge amount of damage to Iraq's guard, Iraq spawn afterwards after the guard took a lot of damage and at this moment, there is: either seperate spawns for the guard and Iraq or they both spawn at the same place. Seperate spawns is faster. Made another video on how to save IEDs with the GL or grenades.
saves 5 seconds if you kill the guard fast enough.
Pushing TBone in A3M1 - At the Junkyard is actually faster! Make sure to not go too fast to prevent TBone from ragdolling/dying. This strat can potentially save more with better pushes, maybe 5 seconds at the max. Do not worry about the "Ready?" dialogue being skipped as is doesnt matter. (btw no need to cover like I did in the push video xd)
This console only strat allows you to skip the UI of the Cash Run being saved, which saves 4 seconds for each cash runs. It's only useful for certain missions where creating a cash run as fast as possible is important. So it saves approximately ~10 seconds overall. (Note: Make sure to not quit the menu too fast or your game will crash. Wait for the grey autosave icon to disappear.)
New movement tech discovered by me.
It simply depends on which weapons you use or not:
Walking; best is a rifle
Jogging; best is a rifle
It's useful in missions in which you are forced into a walk or a jog such as:
Bottom of the Eighth - A1M1 (in the bar),
A Wrench in the Works - A1M8 (at the start if doing old strat),
Risky Bid - A2M12 (after gaining your weapons back),
Defalt Condition - A4M4 (at the start),
No Turning Back pt1 - A4M7 (when finding Lucky),
Sometimes You Still Lose - A5M1 (in the lighthouse, after climbing the lift)
It also just generally saves time anywhere, all this can save a nice ~5s.

I recently got a better idea for the categories. I will explain some of my ideas here: (btw made a discord server if you want to discuss it furthermore)
Use the mugen archive website to make better arrangement and fairness for the categories. For exemple, make a sub category for SNK's characters and others. I will eventually add them if atleast 1 or 2 person speedruns it with any of the SNK characters. Like that, anybody can speedrun any character from the franchise they like without worrying about if the character is op or not.
The exact same thing I talked about 6 days ago: "Any (chars or edits), Any (chars or edits, restricted) and KFM (kung-fu man, no edits [like a NG])" ; but instead of the "restricted" category, we could aim to only have popular characters (can be found on mugen archive) or choose a category for the fighters (SNK, Capcom, etc.), for the second choice, you can of course choose any categories from the website. I will add a new variable and anyone can play with categories they prefer, but one problem is the "Edits" category, as it contains too many op characters. We could either ban the "Edits" or keep it, I prefer to ban it personally.
Same thing as the above but instead of categories for fighters, it can be for certain mugens. For exemple using the mugen made for Vinesauce (google: Vinesauce mugen), but im not sure there are many mugen builds with characters and such.
We stick to what I currently said those 6 days ago. Even though im not a fan of judging a speedrun by: If the character is op or not.
For me, the 2nd option is the best, but maybe you guys have better ideas. There's still 1-2 months until I can make the edits, so think about it well.
Oh right, forgot to mention I can't really do the edits because my arm is broken. It's gonna take some time, so in the meanwhile do your runs depending on the category you want to do and submit them. I'll watch them and verify it once I can make the edits on the leaderboard.
Your reasoning is what I thought after some times after this post. I think it’d be best to keep current categories and do something like that:
Any (chars or edits), Any (chars or edits, restricted) and KFM (kung-fu man, no edits [like a NG])
I think it would be more fair like this. The restricted one is probably the current categories we have, I feel like it’s better to open up the categories for more people to play as they want. I’ll eventually update everything ofc, just wait. Thanks for you reply btw, it added more sense to my post.
I'm between two things:
- Keep the rules and the categories as they are and do nothing or
- Change everything and allow any characters in the speedrun. Split the categories into two of them, one where any characters are allowed to be used (download them but no edits on them. You have to find the one you want): overpowered or not, and the other category for just the original mugen with only Kung-Fu Man(s).
I am for choice number 2 because like that, anyone can speedrun the game as they want to do it. With op characters or not. And if someone doesn't like this kind of thing, he can go for the Kung-Fu Man category for more consistency or for a "legit" run.
I'm not sure what to change so I'm asking the community here to see what it wants. You can say whatever you want but it's either choice number 1 or 2. I give the voting part 3 weeks, when 3 weeks has passed, I will make the choice.
New route for Bait - A2M1 at the beginning. It's a much more straight forwarded path but you have to drive very well to have the timesave, it's easy to crash sometimes if you suck. Comparison to the route in the current WR. This save 3 (or more if driven better) seconds for just a different route.
Credits to @GALLLABO for suggesting a new route for this mission and me who came up with this one.
New strat for when going to the mission Illusions or A2M2 for Bad Blood. Use the digital trip to warp next to the mission and take a car to complete the rest, How to do it: walk first and focus asap (to avoid the animation when taking a trip and to avoid for the phonecall to come in). Once the trip starts, quit it asap and you'd respawn always with a car to take to the mission marker.
Saves 6 seconds compared with No reload and Normal strats. Lose maybe 2 seconds if Reloading autosave vs Normal strats, reload autosave as a backup if the phonecall came through to not lose as much.
