There seems to be an issue with the word "number" on the forums, causing it to display weirdly:
Although I guess I don't really need the image since it should do it in this post too.
"How would that affect the All Debts speedrun of the version 1.6 of the game?"
It wouldn't, because version numbers are not separate on the leaderboards, and you'd just use the fastest version possible (You can delete update data AFAIK).
"No way is any English version of New Leaf ever going to ever be able to beat the 1.0 Japanese world record for All Debts."
Well yeah...That's why they're separate on the leaderboards...
It very well could become an actual category, but we really only make things actual categories after people have ran them, or if they existed in previous games (Like Golden Net, Golden Rod, etc.).
Alright, look dude, I appreciate your enthusiasm for the game, but this really needs to stop.
First of all, you are not a mod, or even a runner for that matter. It's one thing to suggest a category, but you're trying to come up with rules and restrictions for said category as if you're in charge, and as if the category is going to be an actual thing, when that's not how it works.
Second, you don't need to write out every single step or detail of the run. You aren't going to get people interested when every single post you make is a literal essay with step by step instructions. There's an entire guide section for this kind of thing, but it's for routes that people have actually tested, for actual, existing categories, and not just slapped together using information from a wiki.
Third, if you're so adamant about these categories, why don't you run them yourself? This ties into what I said above about people being turned away by how you handle these suggestions. If you had videos of your runs, and just showed that you actually tried to do something other than writing out these unnecessarily long posts, it'd certainly make things a lot better. Obviously most people don't have a 3DS capture card, but even just pointing a webcam at your 3DS is good enough to get the ball rolling.
I really don't want to come off sounding like a dick, but this really is just getting out of hand, and it's only going to turn people away from the game.
yeah, see ya in about 10 years
I uploaded a list here: https://www.speedrun.com/tools/Animal_Crossing_100_Catalog_List_ii4kp.zip
It's just the items that appear in the catalog. When you complete a section of the catalog, it adds a star next to the amount of items in that section.
Also, just a side note, My Nintendo rewards and microtransactions will not be allowed for obvious reasons. You can straight up redeem platinum points on My Nintendo for bells (100 platinum points for 5000 bells), and you can do it as many times as you want.
I don't think anyone wants to have to pay money every single run, or have to use My Nintendo platinum points that they just might not have to even stand a chance at getting a good time.
Now, you ¤will¤ be allowed to link your Nintendo account for the 100 Leaf Ticket stretch goal (Which you can probably do multiple times if you unlink your account/delete your save file), and all other Leaf Tickets obtained through normal play will be allowed as well.
So, I figured the "main" category for Pocket Camp could be All Loans (As in, all loans for the camper upgrades).
Now, since the game just came out (And is only officially available in Australia as a "soft launch"), not much is known about the game, and the different things available in it.
It'll probably be a while before we know how many camper upgrades there are, and how much they cost.
The first upgrade expands the room on the first floor of the camper, and you have to pay 10,000 bells before you can do the next expansion. I know you can get a 2nd floor as well, so maybe you can expand that too? Who knows.
Golden Shovel is just too similar to Chores and Credits to really warrant a separate category
Generally, video proof is really only required for like a top 4 time. It's best to just record your runs regardless though.
I added it to the ILs section. Let me know if anything needs changed. Also, I included Easy since that's a difficulty in the game, but if it's not any different for speedrunning, I'll just remove it.

Yes. There is also an exclusive duplication glitch in the Japanese version that's used in All Debts.
You do also realize that there's a save file to unlock every tonic listed under Resources, right? So even if it was faster to use tonics, anyone has access to them.
