All set. Let me know if you would like to change anything.
Okay, I'll sort it out tomorrow. Or if you wanna do it, be my guest, but only separate PS2 from other platforms as they seem same.
Oh I thought that cop chase was intended to score some bounty. You should have avoided that in a segmented run.
I see. There's also no "Extreme" mod for GCN, so I moved the run to Classic.
"The PS2 version offers the choice between 'Classic' and 'Extreme' handling characteristics; the PC/GC/XBox version does not. "
I wouldn't really believe that 1:49:56. It was done by SfanFZR, the cheater and hacker.
Can you confirm which (or all) of the tracks are different on PS2? I will add them to level leaderboard table.
I think it's more than "not bad". Driving is very clean and you're using best line as much as possible, so apart from some crashes to obstacles, it's very good and I really like it.
Are you sure there are track differencies? Cause as far as I can tell there is none if I compare PC vs GCN version. Maybe PS2 is different though.
You should definitely record a video so we have more records, which could attract more people to speedrun HP2, kinda like what hapenned to Carbon.
That's not that much in a 10 hours run :) I'll add it later if someone will be really interested in doing that.
Done, except I'm not sure if hypnoshark's 18 hours run is RTA or segmented (probably segmented). I'll try to contact him on twitch as he doesn't seem to go here.
Btw, does MW has some sort of NG+ category?
I guess I should do the same changes on the leaderboard as I did with Carbon, right?
Without loads should be preferred, but old runs may have to be retimed, otherwise I'm not sure what will happen if they only have with loads time.
I would recommend to include both times for better comparison.
You don't have to hit Kenji at all, you have to take the inside line and go under him.
Here's a little progress on my segmented run - finally I've managed to beat Kenji, get his car and get no territory attacks at the same time. What a luck... The good news is that I can pass Kenji basically 9/10 of all attempts. It seems that if you get him under pressure right from the start (visible on his facecam), he always crashes a bit right after the tunnel before hard left turn, which is the place where you can easily overtake him. Then just don't crash and you're fine.
I've added variable "Segments" to get rid of half of the categories. Hope you like it.
EDIT: I've also changed timer to "Time with/without loads" since people are running this game on different platforms and also the loading times with Fraps recording are noticeably slower.
As you wish, but my advice is that once you do a segmented run, you should really push it to the limit (that's what segmented runs are for) and segment as much as possible in order to save as much time. Maybe you'd be surprised how much time can be saved if you just repeat one race over and over, especially in a game like MW with heavy rng police.
In my Carbon run, I was able to save 5 seconds in the very first race compared to my usual times. If I do this 12 times, I have a minute saved and that's a lot of time.
You can do it the same way I do in Carbon. Finish a race, start a new one and cut the video during loading screen or after. Then just load the autosave, start a new race, start recording during loading screen and then just edit both videos in such a way that noone will even notice it's segmented.
Unless you want it to look like segmented run... I don't.
It depends how the game saves. If it saves automatically, then you can pretty much cut the video after it does that. If you have to do it manually (doubt it, even U2 saves automatically), then you have to include the video of you saving.
There might be also some continuity issues like in Carbon, which you should avoid. For example in my segmented run, I always start a new race after the one I've just completed, otherwise the video/audio in map won't match (I cut the video during loading screen).
Yeah, I realized that too after JessicaSix submitted his run.
Grim: Found any big time-savers in Carbon? :)
JessicaSix should submit his run soon. Speedrun.com was down yesterday, so he couldn't do it.
Good thinking with the cops chases. That will definitely save some time.
Btw, I've started segmented run yesterday to manipulate rng as much as possible. I'll do RTA later.
EDIT: For the cops chases evade, when you restart the race, does it still count as completed? Because if not, then the trick is useless.
