I do hope those who had their boards vandalized were able to fix them.
idk, I just thought it up randomly and thought it'd be an interesting idea.
I had thought of another idea (assuming it's not already implemented and I'm just missing out). What if there was a viewable waiting list for runs to be verified? Like in games, people (who aren't mods) can see pending runs?
...and now I'm last place again XD Oh well, this change makes more sense at the end of the day ^^
Here's some (probably bad) ideas I had. My main issue is that when running a board that there's not a lot that can help weirder games out like MMOs. I understand the needs of many outweigh the needs of few, but games like the one I run could benefit from multiple IL-like boards (one for Main Map, one for Challenge Hall), I also remember someone bringing up how a game they ran (SuperTuxKart) could also benefit off of this so who knows what other game could benefit from it? ^^; - I also still think being able to better organize variables with subvariables could be beneficial to some games, but I can understand how that would make things messy and would only really benefit the aforementioned MMO boards.
idk, just thought I'd throw in my own two cents.
Not what I meant by "that person" but okay >.> I remember seeing a few days ago some entitled brat who demanded his game get verified sooner, I was merely asking how long it normally takes .0.
okay so I tried adding variables, why doesn't it show in my boards?
So I saw these boards: https://www.speedrun.com/1080snowboarding/Crystal_Lake
And wondered how they got the "Character" and "Board" information and how I would be able to add extra information for the boards I run.
It's a mess right? That's why I was wondering if it was possible to better organize them ^-^;
(Edit:) I guess I have an idea on how to better organize things, but idk, I'd still like to be able to organize it the way I had in mind.
Like for the Rise of Mythos boards: https://www.speedrun.com/riseofmythos
- Can you have more 1 Level Leaderboard?
Could I put "Challenge Hall" stuff under something like what I have for the single map regions? Because there's more than one thing you could potentially run in the game, and it wouldn't make any sense mixing single map regions in with Challenge Hall stuff, especially since on their own they'd have different IL variables.
- Variables of Variables?
Like, if I one day needed to, would I be able to make the "Elyria (NG+)" variable contain "VIP" and "No VIP" sub-variables? Or would those just have to go into their own variables altogether?
Just figured I'd ask as these questions randomly came across my brain. It'd be nice to do these things to get them out of the way early in case of emergency, but... I wanted to ask if it was even possible first.
OH they're on the side! I'm blind, my bad XD
As for the other part of my question, I see, I think I understand, thank you ^^
So I recently had a game I wanted to run verified and I have the boards... sorta how I wanted them to start as? But I have a question regarding aspects in creation, I understand that Categories are the main boxes on the top, they're the main runs of the game, and I understand the variables and subcategories help with some of the organization.
But I'm trying to wrap my head around "Individual Levels" and "Individual Level Categories", they sound like they'd work wonders in the game I requested, but playing around with them, they don't show up and I don't understand the purpose, so I'm asking what they're for and how they're used, because I don't get it.
My thoughts: I like what we're set up for, the thing could be SO much better with a bit of tweaking, I seem to get the same few seeds over and over again with really rare cases where I get something entirely different. It barely feels random to me, and that's taking out the fact that you're only really randomizing item IDs, not the items in whole (ex. every time I get a heart container, I get a "Weird Egg") I don't know if you can make it more random, but that would help a ton as it'd give the player more of a chance to get different items.
Aside from that, I'm excited to see this expanded upon and updated to perfection (or at least as perfect as you can make it) - that said, idk if making the maps and compasses not random is a great idea considering that's two less items per dungeon you could obtain. But that's just my silly thoughts, I just want to see more. :D
