Here's a list of general rules, taken from original Crossy Road, regarding the game and some answers to questions we often get. Please Read.

  1. VIDEO REQUIRED - The preferable format of this is YouTube, but it doesn't need to be. Make sure other platforms are allowed to view your video, i.e. your video shouldn't be restricted to only being able to be viewed on YouTube. We won't accept videos that expire. You don't need to time yourself, the mods will fix it. Just estimate if you can't time. I recommend WatchFrameByFrame.com, as it's easy to find exact frames and works for YouTube and Vimeo videos.

  2. BEFORE YOU START - Make sure your video starts before the actual run does. Must show the screen with your character before you make your first tap.

  3. CHEATING - Cheating can either result in a warning, suspension, or ban, depending on the nature and severity of it. It is up to our discretion. The mods have more tools on their side than you might realize. Play fair.

  4. EXTRA CONTROLS - If you play PC, you can't remap your buttons. Make sure your runs go in the appropriate places. Mobile players can use controllers. Keyboards, however, are not allowed.

  5. CONTACT - Don't be afraid to message a mod. You can use this site or a mod's Discord (preferred), which should be view-able from their profile. If you would like your or someone else's run retimed because you have checked and found it to be incorrect, please message a mod. If you take issue with a mod, please message a mod of superior rank. -If you see a problem with a run, tell a mod so that it can be fixed. -Both on these forums and our discord page, be respectful. Unreasonable behavior can result in either a warning or a ban. For further questions/concerns, contact Oxknifer. -Redundant forum posts may be deleted. Don't take it personally.

  6. CHANGES - Rules are always subject to change. Sometimes more proof is required to uphold accuracy. "Grandfathered" runs may or may not be removed, depending on the change. As certain runs become faster and faster, we may ask you to submit extra evidence to back up an exceedingly fast run.

A tip would be to join the Discord pages to stay updated on anything happening in the community. Right now, we have the Crossy Road Disney Discord: https://discord.gg/gWc6Z4jVWT Mobile Speedrunning Discord: https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB and the general Crossy Road Discord: https://discord.gg/guaT9zDwd6

Good luck Crossing!

We have a cool new look. New background, added an eagle to the foreground, new panel color, new text color, new placement colors, and you can also submit runs for different platforms! That means you can go for both the Android and iOS scores. I also removed Spacepads as it's rather redundant and inactive. Here's top 3: Dare: 2.016, k200: 2.167, and hopKid: 2.550. Also removed the coin runs for Penguin as they don't fit the overall theme. Heriawsity took 10 coins and 100 coins (no Red) and Dare took 100 coins (red).

No forum posts yet huh. I am deleting Death%. From experience as Crossy Road mod, you do NOT want this as a category. Good to do it now with no runs.

Guided Access is a useful tool for iOS users to help them not pause their runs by hitting the bar at the bottom. Here's a short tutorial for it:

My request for a "Hipster Whale" game series was rejected because "a game series is not necessary", but there are many other game series that are far less "necessary" than this. There is a Hill Top Racing series (and they even have Category Extension?), a Hypixel Series (literally not even a game), a Eddynardo series (web games), numerous ROM hack series, numerous fan game series, and even game series with zero players. Rules aren't applied consistently.

In the event a category is deemed "dead", we can remove it so there is more room for more interesting categories. We are retiring our first two today, with the first being "New Year's Doll". We are choosing to remove this because Hipster Whale actually removed this character from the game, so you would need an older version to play it. Also, no one plays it anymore. So the rankings for this stand as: k200 - 6.58 () Dare - 6.94 () Otterstone_Gamer - 7.83 () ENOOPS - 10.71 ()

We are also retiring "Fastest Goal". The standings for that was: k200 - 2.233 () Dare - 3.250 ()

If you run these categories and want to be on this list, please message me. Thanks.

Because many of the course themes differ from the original, those runs will now be moved into the "unrestricted" portion under Misc Categories. These themes include the Space theme (no trains, one sized asteroids, large spacepad sections), At-Home runs (One sized vehicles, stampede sections), the cheerleader characters (Larger open spaces), Psy and Daddy, Blue and Big Fancy Pig (Cannons), and Party themed characters, except for coin runs. Of course, this also included all characters that also have their separate modes, such as Pac-man. Thanks.

I can understand the viewpoint of making a game like Crossy Road unofficial, as it doesn't have an Game Complete category (9,999 is maximum score but no one has achieved that for the normal mode yet). However, the top games page is filled with other games that also don't meet this requirement, and many other games that simply aren't official by any means, like a minecraft server, a game mod, and many roblox games. I ask that the status of games be applied fairly and consistently. Thanks.

Chicago, IL, USADare5 years ago

Why does Crossy Road only show up as an unofficial release now? That doesn't make much sense.

Chicago, IL, USADare5 years ago

Why not add a high scores category?

Chicago, IL, USADare5 years ago

The Autoclickers tab is no more. The runs were moved to the Extra Categories tab, which was renamed to the Misc. Categories tab. This was done to clear space for the Category Extensions. There's gonna be one based off of silly high scores and one for silly time categories. Look out for new categories being added there in the following days. If you have ideas for categories, refer to the stickied forum post.

Some gamemodes have been added.

Here's a list of general rules regarding the game and some answers to questions we often get.

  2. MAKE SURE YOU SHOW THE WHITE HAND IN YOUR RUN - We get lots of videos that don't show the hand that disappears when you tap the screen. This makes it very difficult to accurately time you. Please don't end the video on the exact frame that you achieve a certain distance, as it can mess with timing software.

  3. PAUSING - Pausing is not allowed in runs. If it is "unintentional", we may not reject your video, but you must unpause instantly. It is up to mod discretion. If it is a notable run, multiple mods will have to decide. They will take into account variable such as nature of what caused the pause, whether there was an advantage to be gained, and how far into the run it is.

  4. CHEATING - Cheating can either result in a warning, suspension, or ban, depending on the nature and severity of it. It is up to our discretion. The mods have more tools on their side than you might realize. Play fair.

  5. PLATFORMS - Make sure you click the appropriate platform both times. When looking at runs, we often see someone select "Mobile," and forget to change the next part, so it says "Mobile/PC" which of course doesn't make sense. If you see a run miscategorized, please tell a mod. Special phone operating systems such as Windows or Fire TV will fall under Android.

  6. EXTRA CONTROLS - If you play PC, you can't remap your buttons, or else it goes in the Autoclickers/Scroll Wheel tab. Make sure your runs go in the appropriate places. Mobile players can use controllers. Keyboards, however, are not allowed. If one was used, it would go into Unrestricted.

  7. -Both on these forums and our discord page, be respectful. Unreasonable behavior can result in either a warning or a ban. For further questions/concerns, contact myself for Speedrun issues, and NoahKaiser for Discord issues. -Redundant forum posts may be deleted. Don't take it personally.

  8. CHANGES - Rules are always subject to change. Sometimes more proof is required to uphold accuracy. At one point, only photos were required to verify high scores, and now we require video. "Grandfathered" runs may or may not be removed, depending on the change. As certain runs become faster and faster, we may ask you to submit extra evidence to back up an exceedingly fast run.

  • Right now for PC, times under 1.25 seconds for 25 hops and 4 seconds for 50 hops require a singular video of the screen and it needs to show your hands. They also require audio. Times under 4.133 on mobile require game audio.

9: GAME MODES - Only the original mode is allowed unless otherwise stated. Any mode that has "different qualities" isn't allowed, I.E. no polar bear runs, no Pac-man runs, no cannon runs, no At-Home runs, no Japan runs, no PSY runs, and no Cheerleader runs, as these all have gameplay differences that make them different besides their looks. They belong in either their own categories or unrestricted areas.

  1. MAXOUTS - When someone reaches 9,999, the game no longer keeps track of the score. When this happens, please keep going, as we may implement a way to track scores after this. If you achieve this score or above, mods will put "99x" in the hours place, and then follow it with the time it took to achieve said score. "x" is whatever place they would be on the leaderboard then. Fastest to get said score would have a "9" there.

A tip would be to join the Discord page to stay updated on anything happening in the community. Tournaments are regularly organized there. We may do things like hold community votes over ideas.

Also, please don't just upload to one category. It helps the page look more legit when categories aren't filled with just a few people, and when we all play fairly. Even if your score isn't the best, it's better than someone out there. Good luck Crossing!

I clicked sort games by oldest, and it says Vs Ice Climbers is the oldest on here, released in 1972. Problem is, that game didn't release until 1985. Maybe whoever submitted it put the oldest date on here as a way for their game to get attention? In any case, it needs to be fixed.

We are hosting Crossy Road tournaments every month. Anyone can join and it is free. To join, just click on the discord link and type .register. You’ve gotta join by April 1st at midnight to participate in this next tournament. As more people join we will be able to split the tourney into multiple ones based on skill level. Currently, it is double elimination. The rules can be found at Crossyoff.com. It’s my understanding that the winner is getting a $15 iTunes card. Everyone should go join!
