Making a shindou one would make it just 70 Stars with extra steps, so I feel like that would be pointless. For the normal version that sounds like a fun idea.
If anything that would be a platform, not a category. As there has not yet been any PC-port added as a platform, I see no reason to add a PS2-port.
If I remember that correctly that is how the TAS does it.
That BLJ has been known for a while. If it would save significant time, runners would have already tried incorporating it into their runs I think. If it saves time at all as you are also dependant on the cycles of the rising platforms. If you get onto them, but have to wait for them to rise, that would not save any time at all.
Yeah, PAL runs on 25 FPS while NTSC runs on 30. If you want to speedrun SM64 on N64 I would recommend getting an NTSC console and cartridge in the long run.
For getting into the game and doing a few attempts before you decide if you want to keep running or not a PAL version can be OK-ish, though.
As far as i can tell sliding on the belly is not faster than sliding on the butt (at least not significantly), also the shortcut shown in the video posted by JoJoker02 cannot be used if you start by sliding on the belly. currently a good slide during a run is below 13 seconds, which cannot be reached without the shortcut.
Anywhere you want to? So even on a straight surface?
@fastgamer22 look at the EMU rules. It depends on what platform you play on. Project64 1.6 is the version allowed for Windows, which is what MOST people will play on, but not everyone.
Edit: on the topic I can just agree with Benjams
Most people will not know what those codes do. Please elaborate.
correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Android based on linux and therefore Mupen64Plus is the correct emulator?
Since you asked in another thread about how to record: If you would use the Emulator on an actual PC/Laptop recording it will be easier as you can just use any program that can capture your screen (I use StreamlabsOBS because that is what I use for streaming as well, but any screen capture program will do). So in that case i recommend Emulator.
70 Stars is no major glitches. You can choose a route that does not require glitches for this category.
I don't think this should be an official thing, but just out of curiosity ... would you have to enter the water in WF as well? :> EDIT: And what about CCM?
Well you could make your own notches to make hitting the right angles easier ... If you are willing to switch to another controller I can also recommend a gamecube controller as those are currently kinda affordable. I would not recommend getting those cheap N64 Controller rebuilds as from what I heard they are neither as precise nore as durable as an original N64 controller (and those already do not have durable Sticks). In general I would definatly recommend notched controllers over non-notched controllers even if the notches do not give you precisely the angle you need, as they still give you a better idea where the correct position to hold your stick is.
@Mruns05 EMU usually does not lag. The biggest reason for making N64, VC and EMU own categories is the lag N64 causes as far as i know.
Should not be a big deal as 8 MB basically just simulates the expansion pack for the N64.
