Speedrunning tips

przez Basics:
- There will always be 9 rooms before the boss room, it would be best to count them in your head.
- Petal rooms are two times longer than normal rooms. The closer you are to the boss room, the higher the chances of getting petal rooms.
- There are three rooms that can be used as 'skips' because there are no enemies: Llama, merchant and fountain.
- Unless the other room is an aya vine room or petal room try not to enter any of the skip rooms until about the 6th room, you can try to enter it for the 5th room but you will be testing your luck as you need to get all 3 skip rooms and the aya vine room in a row to skip the petal rooms.
- Aya vine rooms also appear multiple times in one section, do not pick it unless your other options are petal rooms.
- Try to enter spirit core rooms if possible because spirit cores are very helpful for runs.
Playing as Rumi: If you use other characters, these do not apply.
- As Rumi you should take note of how many melee or ranged hits it takes to kill a certain enemy, you can watch my runs to see for yourself.
- You can optimise aerial fighting combo for clouds and bats by using two melee hits followed by smack down and three melee hits right after, this is the best aerial combo I know of right now.
- Rumi has a lot of useful fighting combo skills which should not be ignored, learning how and when to use these skills can save a lot of time and hassle.
- For most bosses all you need to do is spam your ranged attack and time your ults. With the exception of ukumari and yacuruna.
- Dealing with ukumari is very tricky as one screw up and you have to deal with an extra phase. My current meta is to ult for the first and last downed phase. The mid phase is tricky as ukumari can sometimes hang lower or higher, in the event he hangs closer to the ground you can use dash attacks or just hit him with ranged attacks up close to clear it in one go. But if he hangs higher up, you should try to dash attack when he is at the lowest point and aerial combo as he goes back up, if executed right you would just barely be able to clear it in one go.
- For yacuruna, dash attacks are the best way to take down its shield and for the most part you can just follow how every player clears it. With one exception that is the third and last phase. For the third 'downed' phase, you have to time it and start shooting when he hits the ground, this is to ensure that your first hit is the flurry which does the most damage, if you miss it he will be able to get up before you clear it meaning you have to deal with an extra phase. For the last phase, I find that it is quicker to take the damage as you would only have to wait half the time and after getting hit, press the jump button for fast recovery and immediately use your ult, this won't bring down all of its shield but it would do a lot of damage to it.
That's about it, if you have any thoughts or questions just ask and I will answer.
