bombs deal poor damage to stage bosses so best to maintain full power for as long as you can. Bombs deal poor damage to mid-bosses also, however due to some mid-bosses moving quickly it's often feasible to use a bomb anyway.

It is best to kill yourself once when the game starts to collect the power that you drop to get more dmg at an earlier point in the game.
