The stance of myself and @Growing_Gravity at least is that custom units in speedrunning are too difficult to keep track of, super broad, and the category essentially becomes 'who can build the fastest unit'?'. But I really don't want to speak for the community or seem like I'm just shutting the idea down - if there are other runners seriously interested in running this please respond to the thread or like @CaptNinja6 's post! : ) There are one or two rejected runs that use custom units which could be retroactively verified if so, but I doubt the said runners are active.
Maybe not custom units, as its just spam 1 OP unit the fastest. But what about Bug DLC runs? It sounds fun
Building on both those ideas, because I think by themselves the Bug DLC and custom units are too specified, 'unrestricted' might be good? Where you're allowed to use the Bug DLC, custom units, seasonal units, etc.
That sounds good. The only limitation would be no external mods
One requirement I'd likely have to enforce is that any custom units used must also have their parent mod linked in the run description for other runners' usage, else it'd be unfair.
