Modern Keyless optimal routes

After testing/timing I have up with these routes for each level. If you think another route is faster I can time it, but this is best route I can come up with. 
(also note I am yet to look for death warp strats, which may make certain routes faster)

Mansion:

No Sequence Breaks

Strats that will get your run rejected:

- Kooky Cook skip, you must manually use the flame-thrower on the mouth and complete it whilst the pizzas are moving.

- Completing Crane Arms without having them moving. You must trigger the cranes by using the lever on floor 3.

- Oil Rig skip, where you skip straight to the boss in oil rig.

- Spout Platforms invisible wall skip, you complete it without jumping around the the invisible wall to skip to the last platform.

- Volcano Lair rolling boulders door deload, intended route is to be completed.

- Not killing white spy after gyroscopic rings. This is completed once the cutscene is triggered.

- Going out of bounds, useful examples being Haunted House and Volcano Lair.

- Using a door / safe trap or dynamite / mine-like weapons to kill yourself.

- Intentionally falling to your death or taking damage from enemies / map surroundings to kill yourself*.

- Dying unintentionally and purchasing anything from the workbench. You must return to base to manually to buy anything.

*NB if you unintentionally die in the following places, you must return to the point of death and continue story from there:
- After the Piston Platforms safe room in Robot Factory (dying to the buzzsaw robot).
- After turning the bolts in any of the 3 rooms in Oil Rig (dying to mechanics or electricity).
- After collecting the wheel that is accessed via the elevator in Volcano Lair (dying to steam or enemies).
- After collecting the army suit in Area 51 (dying to enemies).
- After collecting the power cell from the Jump Rope Tube in Space Station (dying to enemies).

Time Saving Techniques and Tricks

1. When walking off an object, you are still able to jump in mid-air upto 3/4 of a second after you have walked off the object. This trick is used in the bridge skips on Mansion for example. Get used to how much time you have to walk off the edge, as skips such as Kooky Cook skip and crane skip in Robot Factory require as much distance as possible.

2. When falling from a decent height where fall damage would be taken, to avoid getting the fall damage animation, which stalls forward movement, hold strafe to cancel this animation. You are able to continue walking forward, however you will still take the fall damage. Holding strafe whilst falling off edges in places where you won't take damage (e.g. the Space Station tunnel) allows you to continue running in the air and moving forward.

3. In story mode, jump into cut-scene trigger points. After skipping the cut-scene, your character will have moved forward in the cut-scene. This is a way to allow movement in cut-scenes, and can help make certain cycles, and potentially save up to a second. However, one place to avoid this is jumping into the cut-scene in Kooky Carnival after entering the mouth of the clown. A soft lock can be caused by doing this.

4. Despite being not so great in Modern mode, the slingshot is essential for killing enemies and bosses fast in story mode. Aside from Area 51 and Haunted House, where you need to kill white spy, the slingshot kills him in 4 shots, and general enemies die ridiculously fast from slingshot spam. You can spam the trigger to fire the slingshot as fast as you want, so get used to pressing either R2 or right trigger fast (much harder on Xbox).

5. Bomb storage for fast death warp: make sure to have a bomb and some trap device (bucket, boxing glove etc) in your inventory. Press and hold the trigger/R2 to start counting the timer down on the bomb. Whilst holding the fire button, press triangle/Y to switch to your trap device. Switch back to the bomb and it will continue counting down by itself. When the timer gets close to one, switch back and complete the actions desired for story mode or whatever. Once completed, switch to your bomb, which will explode (if timed well) very soon after, killing you instantly. The same can be done with dynamite, which takes off full health, or 2 proximity mines, which take off half each.

Version Differences (Xbox and PS2)

Load times (console): Xbox has FAR superior load times as expected, PS2 loads can take about 15 seconds to load a level where as Xbox is nearly instantly.
Load times (Region): NTSC is again the superior in this case as NTSC has a higher frame count than PAL (60fps > 50fps). However, if you are playing the game on Xbox there is an option to switch to PAL60 which is basically the same as NTSC. PS2 has no such option.
Modern Mode (console): For some reason the PS2 version lacks some aspects of the Xbox version, this is actually good thing however as the PS2 version is missing a few obstacles in levels that can make it harder for the player to get through the challenge. For example in Haunted House in Lab on Xbox there is 2 lazer spraying cannons that can easily kill the player and ruin the run however on PS2 these turrets do not shoot lazers meaning there is less hassle in the Lab challenge. Another example is in Volcano Lair there is the turrets challenge, in Xbox there is 4 turrets and in PS2 there is only 2 turrets.
Story (console): In Volcano Lair after defeating The General, the player will trigger a cutscene and then spawn in. On PS2 the player spawns in at the same spot each time however on Xbox the player spawns in where they defeated The General. This can be good as it means there is less time wasted trying to get to the moving platforms however if done incorrectly this can cause the game to softlock. It's also worth mentioning that the Pizza Skip in Kooky Carnival is harder to pull of on PS2 than on Xbox as the gap for jumping seems to be smaller.
