I have been looking at other speedrun metroidvanias I.E hollow knight and a popular meme category is Low%

for those who are not aware, low% is where you beat the game with the least amount (ie overal percentage) done as possible. Heres the rules

only 6 is allowed because it is the only way I know of to get to pressure bomb. If however there is another way that does not include this 6 dollars feel free to educate me, would love this to reignite the spark of this community.

As far as I know, hook shot, jackhammer, pressure bomb and sprint are the only abilities that are required to beat the game, everything else is not required, and therefore not allowed. No cogs, no other money upgrades apart from lamp (if there is no other way)

Every and any non-tas glitch is allowed to make this go as fast as possible/allow this to be possible at all.

In my opinion, there is no trouble to create any category, as long as there is a run to demonstrate it :)

There as been some thoughts about a low% before, but we did find it really hard, really long and not that fun to play.

Feel free to finish a run and we'll be happy to add the category.

Could you link the run here? mainly I am just curious with how the run played out. I briefly did a low% attempt but I am not even sure what particularly restrictions I gave myself, since hypothetically you could count upgrades as progress (and not just items obtained) but I am not sure why I would do that to myself.

I have done a proof of concept run where I counted ores sold, money obtained, transport tubes unlocked, abilities gathered, artefacts found, secrets found, and caves visited/completed as completion. I got to the Rosie fight, and realised that I had three hearts. I got past the first two phases, but in phases 3/4 the charge attack kills you in one hit. I forgot to record this run, but I'll do another more fleshed out one and record it to link it here. Also, it took me about an hour to get to the Rosie fight. On the run I'll post here, it will get to the Rosie fight but not complete it because I have a skill issue with phases 3/4.

I forgot to mention that I count the map as an ability and count descovering new areas as completion, which is why, (among other reasons) I didn't go to the Temple of the Destroyer through the windy plains.

It's still processing up to HD so sorry for the poor quality.

Yeah that's a lot of restrictions. I'll give it a look. To be fair Any% doesn't go to windy plains either.
