Windowed mode (and other display settings)

NOTE The leaked DRM-free installer includes a launcher to change display settings freely. You no longer need to manually edit the config files. You may still use the following guide for the BFG and Shockwave versions.

As Krabby Quest lacks a launcher, it will always launch in full-screen at a low resolution, making it awkward to play and/or speedrun. Thankfully, there is a way to fix it.

You must find the options.cfg file associated with the game. Its location depends on the storefront you got it from. Please omit the (x86) if you're running a 32-bit version of Windows. BigFishGames: %ProgramFiles(x86)%\SpongeBob SquarePants Krabby Quest\options.cfg Shockwave.com: %LocalAppData%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Shockwave.com\Spongebob SquarePants Krabby Ques\product\options.cfg

Open the file in a hex editor. I recommend HxD. Change the following values: $0C is the resolution. The value can be between 00 and 03, and changes the resolution to between 640x480 to 1280x960. $10 is the bit settings (colour depth afaik). The default value is 01 (16-bit) and I recommend changing it to 03 (32-bit). $14 is the full-screen/windowed setting. The default value is 00 (full-screen) and can be changed to 01 (windowed).

If you're lazy, then here's my option.cfg file. Bear in mind it will also overwrite in-game settings. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jqIFrRSrbnAp3REU-F7CqmOSOVmuffom/view?usp=sharing

If you're mega lazy, you can copy the launcher from another Wonderland game into the folder where the file is located and run it there. It may work even if the file will be broken, although launching the game and changing the settings should fix it.
