If I wanted to make a new category for speed ruining SMW how do make it official and if I made a category (this is just out of curiosity) could I like take the same rules but extend the exit number for example no cape Easy and Hard mode

I love the very appropriate freudian :) I don't know the official answer but a good idea might be to do a run of this (currently hypothetical ) new category, then chat about it on the SMW discord and see if it's picked up organically.

There's nothing stopping you from running whatever you want. If a category gets enough people running and enjoying it, then it can be added to the leaderboards over at https://www.speedrun.com/smwext

Like I say though, you don't need a leaderboard to run something if you think it'll be fun
