My PB: 4:58.492 was a 4:58.63 when i first got it 26 days ago. 21 days later it got retimed by Mav6771 it's a 4:58.492. But sadly it's still awaiting for verification. Pls...
Yeah, I have a run that is still waiting to be verified after a month. actually 7 are waiting to be verified the oldest being a month, the youngest being 15 days.
Same here. I have a run in category extensions that has been waiting verification for 28 days.
Although I do agree 100% with adding new verifiers, I must add that the moderators are not paid to sit at their computer desk and verify runs 24/7. I'm sure a high percentage of these moderators have jobs or they have things to do that are much more fun than sitting at their computer all day. I mean, of course yes, verifiers would help, but it just seems like too much trouble at the moment and all of the current moderators would have to be fine with it.
Anyways, hang tight. I'm sure the moderators will get to you eventually! They always have for me :)
Hey, it could be worse. On the SNES Dragon Quest 5 page, my run's been sitting there for the last two months. Good thing I'm not holding my breath. XD
It seems like adding verifiers would be a good idea, everybody wins. And if they abuse power or suck in some way then unmod them. Granted I might be naive but that seems like an easy foolproof fix.
Not to be team eddie, but if all they did was just add eddiecatgaming as a verifier, and nobody else, he would knock out so many runs. I know he's accurately timed every one of my runs without exception. He enjoys timing runs. Seems like an obvious solution - with the large attempt load.
Same, except my 4:58.492 that wasn't on the spreadsheet. He is a L E G E N D he should be a mod T B H
I've verified about 35-40 runs since yesterday. There's 13 left in the queue and most of them are awaiting decisions from group discussion. The CE board is probably the lowest priority one between the 5 main leaderboards I moderate.
I'm not opposed to onboarding a verifier or two, however, it's not as simple as just being able to retime runs properly.
Fair enough. Also - it's been said before, and it's going to seem like I'm sucking up to a mod (which I guess is true) but Roopert - you are awesome. You carry a disproportionate weight of the verifications (but shout out to the other mods also, Mav, ad2, kosmic, i_o_l) - between that and organizing the tournament, you're just a wonderful asset to the smb1 community. Thank you for what you do.
Well, thanks for your input @Darpey but obviously just from this one thread I will not be added as a verifier. All of the current moderators would have to think this over together, and I just don't think they would find it worth to add anyone else since everyone else can retime runs just as well as I can, or the next guy.
Bottom line, there's a huge chance I will not be added as verifier, but I don't even mind at this point. Roopert and the other mods have been verifying so many runs lately, by the time I get added, there won't even be any runs to time or verify because they have most likely knocked them out of the queue for the night.
Effective immediately, any submissions using the SNES9x emulator will not be verified. The SMB1 mod team has concerns about its integrity due to its ability to overclock and remove lag frames, which may not be easily detectable. Additionally, we request that all BizHawk submissions avoid using the S
