You keep the joystick close to the point where you first touched your finger which might result in a few optimization problems if you change direction. Do what I do: Touch the screen somewhere at the bottom of it (not entirely) and let it go far out, and if you're going to change direction, rotate the camera instead (thumb for jumping, index finger for camera). It may take a while to get used to, but trust me it actually works.

That’s what you do for dynamic the stick I personally prefer the normal thumb stick as I can guarantee moving at max speed at all times
