I am pretty new to Portal 2 speedruns so I want to make sure. Throughout learning levels and tech, a lot of them have setups that benefit from being able to save/load incase you mess it up. I was wondering if that's allowed in a full run. i.e. using binds to save before a setup and using another bind to load the quicksave if it goes poorly. I did look through the rules but didn't find anything, or maybe I'm blind.
Bonus question: Is pausing mid run allowed also? I use livesplit on gametime so it pauses the timer as well, and occasionally I may pause to check notes or something else.
Thanks! :)
quick saving is allowed if you mess up a trick but using it to perform a trick that wouldn't be possible without saves or loads is SLA (save load abuse)
As a small note: reloading a save in order to attempt the thing in bridge the gap for a second time, where you hold w against the door and pray to go through counts as save load abuse, hence its not allowed
SAR version 1.14.3 is here. It adds some things and makes some things better. Notably, it unprotects hidehud and fixes a major memory leak in INFRA, so performance and load times should stay high throughout runs. If not, let us know! Full release notes [here](
