visit https://steamdb.info/app/2220360/ to locate Paper Lily - Chapter 1 on steamdb

before you start, make sure to make copies of any files you would like to keep as we'll be replacing files in the Paper Lily steam folder. steam may update the game automatically in the future, so you may need to downpatch again, however I was able to launch the game without steam forcing an update.

1. click on Depots on the left side.
2. click the Depot ID which in this case is the first option.
3. click Manifests on the left side.
4. find the ManifestID you wish to downpatch to (in this case it's the version from 14 February 2024 which is V1.1.3)
5. type "steam://nav/console" into your internet browser and hit enter. this will ask to open up steam so it can show you its console.
6. from here we'll input "download_depot 2220360 2220361 4792799535442280526" (the first value is the appid, 2nd value depotid, and 3rd value is manifestid.)
7. it will download the game from here and show you the location of the download, which is in the steamapps -> content folder.
8. copy the complete contents of this new folder into the original steamapps -> common folder for Paper Lily, replacing all duplicates.
9. now you can launch Paper Lily V1.1.3 (or earlier) versions of the game through steam! I only included a few pictures for the guide, so please let me know if you have any questions about downpatching in the forum here if you need more help.
