Utilizing hotkeys during your speedruns can save a lot of time because it reduces the amount of time spent moving your mouse, allowing you to be more efficient. They are, however, not really told to you unless you ask around the community, so here is a comprehensive list of all of the hotkeys.

Contraption Slots : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 (Not numpad.) Selects the corresponding contraption slot for placing.

Pickaxe : Q Selects the pickaxe for removing contraptions.

Starshard : W Selects a Starshard if you have one available.

Trigger : ` (The button left of 1.) Selects the trigger to use on TNT.
