Very lucky in many ways. I wasn't even planning on draining my level, but the ghoul was right there after my initial kill so I adjusted the route.

It's pretty rare to get an ogre as my first kill because they generally have more than 500hp, the max I can deal with my starting 4sp. Ogres have a fantastic 8x experience modifier, so I ended up with a few more levels than I normally would have gotten.

I didn't cast +25hp, so I got really lucky that the ghoul didn't kill me (down to 1 hp!) during deleveling.

I was able to find the shadow ogeroth relatively quickly, and got a lucky hp roll of just under 9000 (his range is about 6400-22400).
