(Demo) Arena 2 Skip

Quick guide for performing the arena 2 skip (discovered by Oni.o27 and refined by BloodShot9001).

To perform arena 2 skip, you will use the telephone pole next to the middle left column. Align yourself so that you are standing in the middle of the walkway while facing upwards above the pole, roughly parallel to the length of the crossarms:

Perform a quick **dash-jump-dash** to land on the crossarms. If you feel yourself slipping, you may be able to recover by jumping and adjusting yourself to land more toward the center of the pole.

Once you are on the pole, aim at the **left side of the right** of the two buildings:

**Soar** (dash+jump) towards this point, then **jump** in the same direction, turning slightly to the left. You should be "nestled" against the right side of the left building. Once here, you'll perform a final **dash** while facing sharply upward and a bit to the left; it's not very precise, but a good visual indicator of where your crosshair should be is about where the top of the right building touches the left building:

 **Hold forward** against the opening and you should land on the other side of the anguish gate.

(Demo) Early Gate (for Arena 1)

Quick guide for performing the Early Gate in Arena 1 (discovered by various players accidentally, with consistent method thanks to Vojtas131).

Performing early gate requires you to **kill three marionettes in a *very* specific way.** These are the three marionettes that spawn on the **central tower** in arena 1 before the final three that spawn below the anguish gate. Doing so skips having to kill the final three marionettes, saving around 2-4 seconds.

You will use the sword for this. First, **you must not kill the first of the three marionettes that spawns on that central tower** (it will spawn when you're dealing with the multiple waves of marionettes that spawn near the arena entrance). If you want a consistent timing method for this trick, however, it is good to take note of *when* the first marionette spawns (more on that later).

Once you're done with the marionettes near the entrance (ignoring them seems to prevent the pair of marionettes from spawning), you must get to the top of the central tower and **perform a third strike on the pair of marionettes as soon as they appear.** (A third strike is the overhead wind-up swing of the sword.) Your input that initiates the third strike windup should be on the same beat that the marionettes spawn, meaning that you should start the combo 2 beats before they spawn. **This is a 1-beat window, so there is no room for error.**

Once you've killed the two marionettes, immediately start another combo and **third strike the lone marionette that you ignored before.** If you've done everything correctly, the anguish gate will open early, and you can exit the arena, ignoring the final three marionettes.

**CONSISTENT TIMING**

Trying to time the initial third strike based on feel can often result in mistiming. Though it's difficult to confirm for absolute certain that this method is consistent, I believe it is based on numerous attempts in which I used it.

To time the third strike correctly, take note of **exactly when the lone marionette spawns.** Count beats from this point (the marionette spawning being 1):

If the marionette spawns on a half beat, I *think* it's best to start counting on the beat *after* this half beat, not before.

**ADDITIONAL NOTES**

You can soar backwards towards the gate on the same beat that you third strike the lone marionette, then jump and swing at, or dash against, the anguish gate. This is the best movement option after performing this trick.

This trick seems to fail on very rare occasion even when performed correctly. It is difficult to say why, though I suspect this happens if you take too long to clear previous waves.

You can sometimes get away with only killing one of the pair of marionettes, but I wouldn't rely on this; just kill both of them.

Rarely, the pair of marionettes will spawn offset from each other. I'm not sure what causes this, but the best thing to do here is to kill the one that spawns first (its timing should be the same). I honestly can't recall if it still works, but it's not like you can change your mind mid-combo, anyway.
